Frustrating AI

DaPrawf

Start with the dice rolls. Over time, the dice roll distribution looks like a fair, normal bell curve, as one would hope. But it’s the dice rolls within a specific game that look suspicious. On medium difficulty and above, the AI always seems to get the exact roll it needs at the precise time it needs it. Next, what happened to the free resource? It used to be the case that if you went 5 consecutive rolls, without getting a resource, you got a free resource of your choice. Since the latest update, however, that feature seems to have disappeared. I recently went through several stretches of 5+ rolls with no resource and the freebie never came up.

iPad is very glitchy

dk2243

Love to play online but it is irritating when it shuts down the app or when you can’t see you cards because of the iPad programming.

Fix the rule for barbarian attack

kbxkb

If you have 2 cities but have one strong knight, if the barbarian attacks and wins, your city should not fall as there are 2 knights for 2 cities.

Great game

Love the game. Plays well, I haven’t hit any glitches.

Absolute waste of money

pnsoc

Game constantly freezes, interface is slow. I enter the road or settlement building part of the game and the game won’t let me place my road nor back out of the interface I’m in and then I get kicked for idling... seriously... Some of the best apps are free and their so good that you don’t mind upgrading to the pro version. This app is $5 and once they have your money, they don’t care to improve the app... what’s the point they already have your money. You have to really really like Catan to deal with the frustration this app brings.

Horrible!!

Jms101058

On my IPad Pro this game is frustrating. Constantly resetting itself. Seems to be written by amateurs.

Goood game.....

This game is fun and challenging. The only complaint is that the dice are thrown to help computer players. Their numbers show up 4 times to my 1. That is frustrating. But still keep playing. I’m hooked.

some great ideas, but some significant drawbacks

Townwordsmith

There are some great inclusions, like being able to see the die roll count, but I’ve also had some very oddly skewed games, in addition to a lot of the other issues you’ll see around here. It’s a real shame, but hopefully they’ll get around to fixing it eventually, as its really nice to think about my turn for five minutes without someone yelling at me.

Doesn’t play fair

Txkj

I really enjoy this game but not this version. When playing against the computer(I personally do not like online gaming) it seems to cheat. It will not allow me to build roads or settlements even if the area is highlighted. Yet, the computer can build there. When the dice are being rolled one will suddenly jump to a new side. The division on development cards seems to be predetermined as I always get the same card. Trading can happen between the computer players without being asked. For the money, not worth it!

Unplayable

Honestly this app shouldn’t even be on the App Store, just about everything bricks the game where you have to restart it. Play a production card? Reboot, build a road? Reboot, wanna upgrade a settlement? You get it by now...
