Buggy app

It’s been enhanced over the years, but this app (just like the mobile and full BA websites) is a buggy mess. I go to book a flight and lately all I ever get is a white screen. It doesn’t even look like it’s attempting to search, it just goes straight to a white screen. Ended up booking a BA flight via the American Airlines site and I’ll hope for the best when it comes to the Avios and tier points.. Not app related, but regarding the Avios - I have no clue why I have them. Sitting on 180,000 and have never been able to book an award flight except US domestic AA flights, or an book an upgrade with Avios award. BA really need to look at how American handle award flights - you can always book an award flight with them. How many points it takes is another matter - sometimes 37,500 for an off peak business seat one way, sometimes 110,000 if it’s not peak, but you can always book award flights and buy miles if you need more. BA = no availability. Always. It’s probably why I’m always at the silver tier because I always have to pay money to fly BA and so I always get tier points. Crazy.

I once sat on the runway at Heathrow for 6 hours because Ba’s IT had crashed worldwide. This app is more of the same: it routinely blocks me, says the “page is unavailable”, and rejects passwords with no special characters because “you can not use special characters”. I like BA (boring average) but their reservations systems tech is shockingly bad.

I tried to use the app to check in to an upcoming flight and it failed to ever load a check in page. Just kept returning an error saying it couldn’t establish a secure connection. FWIW - the mobile web experience is awful too and required over an hour of attempts to check in. I tried to give up and call, but after waiting on hold for 20 minuets I was told that they can’t check in by phone and I have to use the website. Wow. 0/3. We’ll done BA.

Whatever "upgrades" they did they royally effed it up. You can no longer book a rewards trip because you wind up in an endless loop on a page asking if you want stopovers!!

Terrible and not user friendly at all

This app frequently makes you re-enter information or just rogues back to step one in its own. The drop down menus cause the page to jump to the top and it takes ages to get your boarding pass. I would give this no zero stars if I could because it’s awful. The easyjet app is better and that’s saying something. I expect more from BA.
