Useful app, works most of the time

Live2Rhumba

Been using the Boingo app for a couple of years and I'm mostly satisfied. It's easy to use and works with an occasional glitch, like not recognizing a Boingo hotspot or refusing to accept login credentials.

Useless

Setting $10 on fire every month is a better use of your money. Turn back.

It's Not Raining!

Been waiting so long for this moment. Using Boingo used to be like starting a 1982 rusty car... start & stop, close & reopen, & wait ten minutes to triple-tap. It was a great 'theory,' but brutal to use. The stress often put me in a psychosis & made me hear the voices. But now, it's like buying a new car - you're so impressed that it works, you don't know what to say. Easy & smooth & no more hassle. If Development changes that, I'll have my driver head there & I will make poop on all your keyboards. No Poop on Your Keyboards, Timmy Daniels - Comedian, NYC

Awesome App

Really great app; excellent for international travel. Does a great job in locating wifi zones.

Update locks Location on

what smell?

Still the case. Result is this became a battery burner. Prior to the most recent update the app used my location only while it was being used. That's how I have it set. The post-update version keeps my location on. In order to turn it off I have to go to the phone's settings, find the app, and change the location setting to Never.

Just awful.

How do u use this?!!!!!

HiOverHere

I only signed up for boingo Bc it's complimentary via American Express Platinum but it doesn't even make sense. I see a hotspot then try to get on but it doesn't really show how I can log on. So I basically signed up for boingo and have never used it

Poor app, or poor service?

I get it--integration with core iOS functions is lousy if you aren't Apple yourself. Installing as a profile is, I suppose, the closest thing we'll get to integration. I'm not sure if the problem is with the app itself (poor handoff between the app and wifi spots it recognizes and iOS settings to actually facilitate the connection/credential verification), or just a problem with Boingo's service (that the hotspots don't actually or reliably accept boingo's credentials as accepted connections), but I really feel like I'd be better off paying for data roaming through my cellular service provider. At least then, I'd know that I have something I can trust.

The app is great. I can connect anywhere and while is connected does not fail and it is fast. But there's a problem, the app disconnects completely after not using for 2 min. And you have to go to the whole connecting thing again. Get the wifi, go to the app and connect again. And sometimes example in Guarulhos airport does not connect and it takes for ever to get on line again. Otherwise great app good service, if worked right service could be also great.
