Could be so much better!

There should be more sort options. Encourage members to put in more family surnames. Have a means to exchange family information and photographs. All in all, it has been disappointing. It says I have 5,000 relatives, where are they all. There were some less than 15 miles away, I reached out to them, but have never heard back. Basically it’s ok, but it could be much better.
Am I missing something?

I didn’t find out that much information. I think it’s a little overrated and overpriced. I didn’t walk away with anything that useful.

I found a cousin on my maternal side. I was hoping and still hope to find out something about my paternal side because I don't know anything about them. The information that I did receive was so interesting but too much to read. I wish that you all would send a paper report.

23andme definitely changed my life. I love the way I can see and connect with new family. However, 23andme could improve on the family tree. It’s hard for people who don’t know their family to build their tree. People are placed on your tree as a cousin or something but if you don’t know who those grandparents are or their children, how do you even get to see which family member they are connected to? You don’t get hints or anything. At least on AncestryDNA you get hints and can search people. 23andme is a jigsaw puzzle when it comes to the family tree. It’s frustrating.

i’ve connected and found a lot of family because of 23&me and it’s been life changing, but it wasn’t easy with the messaging section. you have to click someone’s profile and click message or you have to click the messages button and it’s just a long long list of every message you sent and received. it’s not very organized at all, i wish it was like literally any other app with a messaging system like messenger or anything else but what it has now. i would dig through my messages and found ones i missed because of how messy it currently is. thankfully the family i found was comfortable sharing facebooks and phone numbers to stay in contact that way
Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

I can’t even see my son and daughter-in-law. They gave me the 23and me last Christmas. Haven’t been able to find them to begin my tree. My daughter tried, but couldn’t complete because of her immune disorder.
