Disappointed!

Unfortunately, I’ll need to buy a real tracker for my luggage, etc. because the XY FIND IT (model #4) has an EXTREMELY POOR SIGNAL. As I speak, I’m looking at my suitcase which is no more than 15 feet from me and my phone can’t, “FIND IT!” I am also looking at my backpack which is no more than 25 feet from me and my phone can’t, “FIND IT!” I’m disappointed with myself for buying a number of these things without simply buying one to test it out. I would have saved my time and money. So, I’m literally sitting right next to my backpack right now and my phone shows that there’s no connection!??. When I press the button on the tracker, it rings my phone and it shows full connectivity. Bummer! Don’t waste your money!

Please don’t buy this as it does not work. I purchased 4 of these and they don’t work. I will keep them because i believe that with time and money FIND IT with make these work. But as for now. Please do not buy it.

While the functional for finding tags works reasonably well, the reverse, ringing the phone with the tag, has never worked for my iPhone 6S.

Screen space waste

When viewing the map that is shown by the app, it wastes screen space with a banner to try to get you to purchase the product. In order to be viewing this map you must already own the product. What a waste.

The ad says you can find your item anywhere in the world. They show a picture of a person looking at a smart phone with a GPS map with the item located. In truth the object is limited in range to about 300 feet. If your item comes within range of another person using the app (or who has allowed the app to have access to the device’s location services at all times), then you will get notified of the location of your item. This is a nice compromise for those who wish to avoid an additional cellular bill for GPS tracking of their vehicle. However the ad should make this clear.

Useless,phone in one hand and xy in the other and it cannot find it. The sound is not loud enough to hear even when I’m holding it.

I’ve had xygps (at a $250 retail price) for about six months. I’ve been trying to get it up and running for more than a month. As previous reviewers have noted, instructions are out of date both on the website and in the app. I’ve emailed the company three times over the past four weeks with a single bot email back three weeks ago saying they’re really busy, they’ll be in touch soon. “Soon”, I guess, is a relative term. Bottom line: spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.

Doesn’t go the distance. The batteries always go dead so the days when I truly need it to help. Can’t locate because batteries are dead. Then it can only work at a short distance. Here I was told Free Batteries for life and they think I am making this up well that is how they advertise and if your keys are left at the mall and you are at home. You can’t locate them. False advertisement. The videos are lies. Put it on a purse to find your purse at less than 50 feet. What a joke. They lied to me from the start.

Tried to activate XY GPS. Not going to happen. The website is not being maintained. The subscription page fails to load its own resources. Firmware updates failed. Bluetooth range is less than 15 feet. 12/16/2018 Everyone who owns an iPhone and purchased an XYGPS is now SOL. These devices are no longer supported. That is unless you dump your iPhone and buy an Android phone. XY is calling this a “software optimization”.

I was just told that my truck keys were in the North Atlantic Ocean. No, they were actually hanging on the key rack in my house in Utah five feet away from me. Don't waste your money.
