Love it, but big issues

Let me begin with how this has been my writing app of choice for years. I love Werdsmith because it lets me explore formats and helps to keep everything nice and neat. However, I’ve run into an issue today in which the app doesn’t work on my iPad Pro. I launch it and it freezes before it crashes. It works just fine on my phone, but I needed some of the writing I did this morning, which I can’t access because it’s on the iPad app, unfortunately.
Will rate five stars as soon as syncing improves!

I've had Werdsmith for maybe two weeks, and I can confirm that it's an excellent tool for writers. The word count goal is such a great addition... a thrill goes through me everytime I see the green banner pop up! I also love how I can choose to show my work on my portfolio online to share. There are ways to lock the app, too, including touch ID on devices that support it and custom passcodes so that nobody can accidentally delete all my work! And I absolutely LOVE the statistics!! Word count, words written, time spent writing, reading length... I love these! They are so intuitive and so helpful. The other awesome part about Werdsmith is the free version! I downloaded Storyist 4 a couple weeks ago that advertised as free, but I was stuck in view mode until I paid TWENTY dollars to download the actual version. I deleted the app immediately. While I'm sad that the novel template and dark mode are only available with a subscription, I also understand that to develop the app so well and continue to do so, the developer can't just offer it for free. I so appreciate the fact that there is a (more than just satisfactory) free version!! That's worth a million brownie points in my book. As awesome as the app is, I do have a few recommendations: - a find/find and replace. Once, I forgot the last name I gave to a character in my manuscript, and I had to read through the entire manuscript to find the character's last name. A "find" feature would have made the task so much easier. In addition, I'm prone to renaming my characters several chapters in (for example, I had a character named Pari, a name I love, but Pari's sister was named Katie, so I renamed Pari Brioney). A find and replace feature would definitely expedite the process of replacing the character's original name as well as making sure I don't miss any occurences of the name. - folders. For example, if I'm writing a novel called Joe Bob, I usually have around five documents for the novel Joe Bob. I have "Joe Bob manuscript," "Joe Bob random scenes," "Joe Bob character list," "Joe Bob outline," and "Joe Bob random thoughts." Maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal, but when I'm writing two or three or more novels at once, the documents add up quickly. A folder system would make this so much easier. - better syncing. I'll type something on my phone when I'm not around my iPad, and it just doesn't save sometimes. I don't see the changes on my iPhone OR my iPad. While I love the app, this is so frustrating. I'd also like to add that while Werdsmith is an awesome tool, it's not super great for outlining a complex novel/screenplay/stageplay/you get the point. What I mean by this is that it's not great for listing scenes, developing characters, and organizing plot threads. You'd need a different app, something like Story Planner, for that. Despite my recommendations and criticisms, Werdsmith is superb and I'm so glad I downloaded it!!

Hello Creators of This awesome app! I don’t understand how premium matter, it just gives you stuff. I think the night time, and dawn stuff should be free I don’t see the problem please fix that. ;-;

Membership changes?

I’ve written so many things on this app in the novel format and have been using (and paying for it) for years but now I can’t write anything unless I become a member? Even though I’ve been paying for the membership already? Now it’s forcing me to upgrade from monthly to yearly if I wish to keep using that format. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on or maybe I have things confused but if I seriously have to upgrade my plan then I’m just going to cancel it entirely.

I love this app so much because you can choose you font and it is sooooo epic and I highly recommend it if your like me and love writing.

This app is perfect. Even without buying things, I love this app so much. You can make chapters, they add different formats, there is a lock, and much more, those are just some unique features that I haven’t really seen in other apps. The only thing I would say is negative is that I’m having trouble converting it to google docs to upload manuscripts. It works, but I have to re-format it. ⭐️??
