This app is exactly what you think it is. It’s an app for people who like to write and want to make short stories, or for me, mini movie scripts. It separates your ideas from your actual stories, so if you want to make a story based on random words you can come up with, you can make that a separate note in a different area. It’s much easier to organize, and it’s honestly so cool. Perfect for people who like to write just as a hobby and want something that can easily organize your thoughts. ?

I love this app. I’ve been using it a lot. But why is my project crashing so much? It’s been working perfectly fine so far, until recently- every time I open my project it crashes. Very disappointing and frustrating.

I have used this app to jot down ideas that plunge into my brain from a fragment of inspiration. Recently it has become a very important writing tool for the coalition of those ideas into a solid story outline. It is beyond useful. Thank you for not only delivering a stable product but maintaining it for the long term.

don’t get me wrong, i love this app! it gives you the bare minimum of what you need to write and even additional features that weren’t asked for but secretly needed. but i feel as if they should at least give you the option to change the font to “Novel” without having to buy the ‘premium’ subscription, there was no warning in the preview that i’d be stuck with using a super smooth Wattpad-like font (which is why i don’t use Wattpad). this may sound picky but i know you seek to inspire writers, and for me i can’t exactly read or write unless i’m in a specific environment and it just hurts when i have no other choice unless i pay 5 dollars every month (Which is for someone who can’t trust subscriptions anymore and is too young to receive any sort of income to pay every month). if devs could at least give up having to buy premium for at least the novel font so when i write i feel like i’m writing a book that would be really nice ?

I used to absolutely adore this app and use it for all of my writing. I was a paid member for literal years, and I thought it was worth every single penny, was even a part of the beta program when the new and improved version was being tested all that time ago. I didn’t really have access to a computer and did the majority of my writing on my phone, so the app was great, but then it just became cumbersome. With four+ years of ideas and projects, it became IMPOSSIBLE for me to find anything I wrote without scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and ... scrolling. Sometimes I would even go past the one I was looking for because I missed it, and I’d be scrolling through ideas for hours searching for a specific one. A search feature is a MUST if I’m going to keep using this app, let alone start paying for it again. It became such a hassle to find specific ideas that I just canceled my membership, because I felt like the updates I was helping fund just weren’t coming anymore. I’ve mentioned adding a feature like this in an email before and was told “We’ll work on it!” but that was at least a year ago, and nothing has come to pass since then. Werdsmith is a wonderful app with many great things going for it. It’s been a vital part of my writing journey being a great place to store ideas for future books, having a beautiful and easily navigated novel format (part of the paid membership), and giving me version histories and stats I haven’t found on other apps or sites, ie. how long it would take to read what’s written. I am so genuinely sad to say it seems like it’s time for me to move on from this app, because it is good, but I can’t in good conscience keep adding more to my enormous pile of writing on it unless a search feature is added. So many ideas would get pushed down to the bottom, never to be found again.
