Don’t right reviews but the wemo app is horrible. Every time I try to set up a new smart plug it sits on the loading screen until the app crashes, I’ve tried updating the app, redownloading, and retrying it on 2 other phones. But somehow it still has the same problem. Definitely don’t recommend wemo, get wyze or a different brand that’s user friendly.

The outlet switches are very unreliable and always have issues. Either not turning on. Or not turning off. And they are increasingly more rare to find connected in the app. Find a better smart system. Junk.

These are not good if you buy them to use at different times of the year (Christmas, etc…) It takes a lot of work to get them updated, current firmware update is on day 3 (100g internet), they constantly do not connect and need help. I have a few Amazon smart plugs and they just work. I’ve done nothing ever with them. Wemo plugs take an hour every single time you use them. Uggh.

So I need a Belkin account to access my own devices on my own network!?! And you “need” my location to track me!?! NO JUST NO. switching to your competition which has NONE of this garbage. Screw you & the MBA genius manager who thought this was a good idea. Zero stars.

Having Difficulty Updating

Four out of 5 plugs will not update the firmware. It makes it hard to set a routine through the app! Any assistance would be great appreciated!

The Wemo smart plug could not connect with my wifi, despite it having an excellent signal.

Push notifications no longer work

The product and the app used to work. A few months ago, push notifications stopped working in iOS. The rules are set up and notifications are turned on. Some switches have also stopped responding completely, though that might be a product problem and not an app problem. Would be great if this could be fixed.

Like the other reviewers said it doesnt connect propperly. Its hard to setup and if you move from place to place is near impossible to connect again. Make a favor to yourself and save your time trying to figure out how to work this trashy app

Hard to understand why it’s not reliable

I configured and plugged in all my WeMo Insight modules, and sometimes they all work fine. Then, sometimes they don’t, even after I upgraded to a “mesh” network, with mesh modules near to all my WeMo modules. Sometimes a WeMo module might be online and pingable, but the APP can’t control it. It would be great if it were more straightforward.

If have about a dozen plugs or switches purchased from Costco. Started using them about 5-5 years ago. At any given time only about half of them connect, then they may reappear in an day or so or I have to cycle power to them. Costco now offers a different brand so bought a few last year and they are dependable. Now I’m replacing all all the Wemo’s.
