The app interrupted my evening read insisting it must be updated NOW. not a great customer experience. Is WAPO developing a customer abuse program like many large consumer products companies!

Every time I click on a story in the app the Pay Wall Demand Pops Up! Every Week My Review Disappears. Good Paper Lousy Software Developer.

The advertisements, that’s what kills it. Customer care told me we have to have advertisements to offset the subscription cost. $150 is not cheap but I wouldn’t mind paying more for a subscription without ads. Just really annoying!

Suddenly the app tells me it must be updated to continue; however, when I attempt to update, I get a message that there was a billing problem. A series of messages that passwords are invalid ensues, and I am never able to use the app. There should have been no billing problem as I use my PayPal account for the subscription and I have the receipt from January 27. So I have the subscription but can’t use it.

The app’s search function remains useless. Despite typing a word-for-word search of the known title of an article in the current edition, the app will inevitably offer choices that are months or years old, which generally have nothing to do with the article being searched for. In the end, one needs to leave the app, Google the article, and then follow the link back into the app. Please fix this- it’s embarrassing for a paper owned by a tech pioneer!!!!!

The integration of it all is fantastic. I wish the NYT had one like it. Long time subscriber dating back to ‘65. Still a quality publication

Love the format clear and easy to use! The best especially compared to the New York Times and Boston Globe. Love the print edition format!

I have been enjoying my Washington Post subscription on my iPad for several months now, and just want to say how pleasant the experience has been. This is a very nice app, head and shoulders above some of the monstrosities available from other news outlets. The only glitch I experienced was due solely to user error: I had neglected to set a screen name for myself, and was unable to leave comments or gift articles because of that. I have a handle now, and all is good.

The headline font is extremely hard to read due to the many super thin character strokes. The font has some thick strokes and lobes, but countless pixel-thin arches, shoulders, and bowl. Fix this, and you get 5 stars. As is, it’s unreadable.
