Android version better than iPad version.

disgruntled user in se ohio

I recently retired my old Samsung tablet and purchased an iPad 10.2. I love the iPad but am sorely disappointed in the Washington post app for iPad. The post is one of the prime reasons I use my tablet. The app does not present all of the stories and comics that the android version does nor does it even keep the things presented up to date. Very disappointing. I am even considering getting rid of the iPad and going back to an android Android I have contacted support several times with details of the issues and was told it was being addressed, bu to date there has been no improvement.

Better Comment Tool Solution Needed

MojoMan49

The means to retrieve ones comments is buggy and does NOT work. Also need return of Avatars for this function. Notification on comments also needed.

Hard to scroll with huge ads

Bolespie

Obtrusive ads taking up nearly the entire screen make it difficult to scroll stories without accidentally clicking through, which I’m sure is the point. Would they prefer I go to the web version and block the ads?

Great App

Berkey99

Well done you! I love the look and feel of your app. It takes advantage of all the capabilities my apple devices have at their disposal.

Absurdly Hard to Access Once Subscription Renewed

Travis McGee Junkie

I have paid to renew my subscription and I am ceaselessly bombarded with messages offering a renewal, cannot access the articles that I am paying for, canceling my subscription. Shocking in an Amazon company-poorly aligned technology.

Miss the Classic App

TheHammer610

We used the Classic App. But the WP deactivated that app, forcing us to use this one. This has the classic print view that is similar to the classic app, but it does not work as well. For example, If we accidentally flip the page, it used to retain the previous page view and position on the page. This app does not. Please bring back the Classic App.

I love the WP.

Old Acre

I started reading the WP on a daily basis when I was in graduate school at the University of Virginia in 1970. Reading the Post with a cup of tea is the way I start each day, and I check the news on my IPhone during the day. I cannot imagine my life without the honest reporting of all aspects of current news here and abroad. Here’s to another fifty years! Old Acre

Missing the basics

Thereader23

This app is missing some really basic stuff to make it minimally useful. 1. A back button : why can I not view the last article I read before the one that is previously loaded? I would like to re-access items I have previously viewed. I find this enormously helpful in the NYT app. It’s also a basic web UI standard. 2. A recently viewed / history tab : not too hard either. The last 10 or 20 articles I’ve viewed should be accessible somewhere, so I can go back and share articles with people If they come up in conversation later. I don’t always know at the time whether or not it is important enough to save. I shouldn’t have to save something to find it again. Right now, once an article is gone out of the viewport it is gone, and is very difficult to find again. Please consider integrating these basics of web UX into what is essentially a web browser in an app.

Enjoy reading Washington Post

Fluffybarb

I’ve read the Washington Post on my Kindle for several years, but recently had difficulty reading the comments on my tablet. I decided to download the WaPo app and am happy with it. It’s easy to navigate, the articles load quickly and I can view the comments with one click. The only downside is the comic Overboard is missing.

Its ok
