Nice Idea Bad Implimentation on Watch3

Rhmachote

I really was hoping to have the Alexa on my Watch series 3 But it is way to slow. Maybe better on series 4. I am hoping developers can update and speed it up. But, still like it. Please UPDATE

Awesome app One suggestion though.

I thought that Alexa on your Apple Watch was not possible, that is until I found this awesome app. I have a suggestion though. I am blind and I use voiceover. On my Echo Dot I have it set up to play a sound when I say Alexa, and when The device stops listening to me. I can press the start button, but it takes a while to start listening, some kind of beep or indication that lets me know that the app starts listening would be nice. Amazon's Alexa app does have a beep that when you press the Alexa button, indicates that the app is listening. But so far, really awesome app.

Original Apple Watch

Question: Can you make this available for the original Apple Watch please?

Love it so far

My wife might just buy an Apple Watch so she can take Alexa with her everywhere she goes. Great work!! I do have a question though. When I ask to see my Grocery list (we have a Shopping list for household items and a Grocery list for food) she tells me the top items on the list, which is correct. However when I swipe to view the list, all I see is “Visual feedback is d...” What’s up?

Works well!

It works well, but there’s one thing that I’d love to see: an option to start listening when it loads. I use Siri as hands free in my car a lot. I’d love to be able to say “Hey Siri, get Alexa” wait a few seconds and then start talking to Alexa. Now I need to press the microphone icon in Voice in a Can to start Alexa. Note that this is all using just the iPhone and not with the Apple Watch.

Great start but need to add functions

Works great from phone, but need to have ability to send announcements. Should be able to use this as if I were using the Alexa app.

Some Alexa is better than no Alexa on Apple Watch!

I was very hesitant to purchasing this app, but I am so glad I did! I am very content with this very practical app on my Apple Watch. Having the voice assistant Alexa on my watch is a game changer and allows me to bypass the severe limitations of Siri. Although I cannot access all functions of Alexa such as Amazon music, I can get better search results, news briefing, and control my home devices from my watch! All of this was impossible without this app! Great app, which I put on my watch face and use frequently. The developer has also set up a very helpful page in which I was able to set up a Siri shortcut to access Alexa. Overall, I am very satisfied and cannot wait to see the future updates of this app! It would be cool if this app would send haptic notifications for timers, however I am sure this is beyond the developers control. Thank you! Well worth the $2!

There is an WATCH Complication, But It’s Real Slow from WATCH Series 3

I think you need a pair of Bluetooth 5 devices to realize prompt responses. My Bluetooth 4.2 Series 3 WATCH is too slow communicating with my Bluetooth 5 iPhone XS Max. From this app on the Xs Max it’s plenty fast. All I need this app for is to turn one kitchen light on and off. It’s taking about 15 seconds to turn it on and a little less to turn it off from my Series 3 WATCH. I’m using a FEIT smartbulb that’s simultaneously connected to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. I love that I can use my WATCH to switch the light on and off. This eliminates the need for an Apple HomeKit compatible bulb and then going through Seri to do the switching. $2 beats $25 for an Echo Dot for Alexa or a HomeKit bulb for Seri to switch the light with my voice. I’ve been using a dedicated iPhone SE with Google Assistant on 24/7 for the last two years. That’s much faster than this Alexa way from this slow Bluetooth 4.2 Series 3 WATCH app. But it frees up the SE. I’ll be getting a much faster Bluetooth 5 Series 5 watchOS 6 WATCH in September. Hopefully that will resolve the speed issue. I have the old Ecobee 3 thermostat that doesn’t have Alexa built in but is Alexa compatible in addition to being in my Apple HomeKit app and on my WATCH. Now with this app I have voice control of the thermostat as well. All I have to say is “tell Ecobee Away” or “tell Ecobee Resume Schedule” and it works!

Great app, developer was even more!

This app has been everything i needed to control my Echo from my Apple Watch, i had a few tiny problems but Damian was so receptive and even made a youtube video to show me how to set it right. Highly recommended!
