Avoid these TVs and this app at all cost. The smart tv are great, but this Vizio cast is an absolute joke. Been fighting with this thing for over a year and it has never worked very well. Would throw the TV out if I could afford a new one, I own 4 HD Vizio and have never had trouble out of any of them except for the one that uses this app. It is so bad I may never buy another vizio

1st off the only thing that “SmartCast” is Spotify. YouTube, Hulu, Sling, all the other “supported” apps that are listed do not show up at all and all my devices are under one WiFi name. Secondly please push a update so there is a power button on the app for the subwoofer as it gets pretty annoying having to manually power on the subwoofer, that takes away from the point of the whole wireless connectivity thing. So if any VIZIO representative happens to be reading this reviews please include an update so I can turn on the subwoofer using the app just like how I can turn the sound bar using the app, cos the sub doesn’t turn on with the sound bar, which is kinda “derp” if it’s all supposed to be Bluetooth and all that.

Apple does everything possible to make this app not work. They want you to buy an Apple TV. The app works wonderful on Android devices. Screw You on your iOS based crap.

This app is complete garbage. I can never sync the tv up with my phone. And when I finally do, I still can’t get into the settings or control the tv, the buttons don’t light up. As soon as I close the app it forgets everything and I have to redo it all. So many problems I don’t even know where to begin to list them. Thankfully I have an Xbox one so can do all my apps through that.

OMG this is the worst POC!!! It drops paring, the actual remote has like six buttons so you can’t access a TV menu and it takes forever to pair. I F-ING HATE THIS APP AND THIS STUPID EXPENSIVE TV!!!!!!!
Despite Other Reviews, App Works Fine

The app itself actually works well. You can do everything you could with a normal remote and the connection is usually stable. The widget is nice also since it makes it easier to access. However, in previous versions of the app pressing the SmartCast button in apps like Netflix or YouTube would turn on the TV and then cast the video. Now tapping the cast button only turns on the TV stops at the “Ready to cast” screen. You have to reconnect the app with TV and then try to cast again before it actually works.

Constantly drops Wi-Fi connection. Extremely frustrating to use. Will not but another Vizio tv if I have to use this app.
