Can’t even get the app to download

MisterCleanCT

I am using the most recent version of iOS and I bought 4 of these smart traps to use around my house, so far I only opened 1 and I am glad because I can’t even get the application to download, which makes these traps overpriced since they are essentially stand alone electric traps, in which case I would rather just use regular snap traps. Please fix this application or I will have to return these traps.

I have what they referred to as an executive coach. For approximately seven days I had a roommate. Pictures on my camera announced it was a rat. After spending close to $250 on many sticky traps of all sizes and slam traps, and ultrasonic pulses and frequencies that only mice rats and area 51 aliens could hear. I Purchased four put them on all sides in my bays and felt confident that he would be in a straight jacket by morning. I actually found three out of the four had poop on the top of them. A the next day a friend told me about Victor. I found the trap at a nearby tractor supply went back set it up when some McDonald’s hit fudge sundae nuts for bait and within one hour he was executed and to top it off it was during halftime at the Super Bowl. Great next year commercial mr victor. I now purchased another one and this one has Wi-Fi. Congratulations on a great product. Vern B. Oregon.

Concerns on this product

Vicbbinatl

We have an unplanned visitor and was very curious about this product and appreciated the concept of not having to go check for a captured, and dead, rodent. The device has been installed for just over a day - the most bizarre occurrence is that the iOS app logs itself out in about 5 minutes after logging in. How will I ever receive any notifications if the app constantly logs itself out? This isn’t my banking application - it’s a rat killer application - Im not concerned if the app remains logged in so I can easily take a look at the status. And annoying miss.. Fortunately I did not run into any of the WiFi connectivity issues that many report however we also have a very powerful and broad-coverage hone WiFi network so I was not expecting that to be an issue - and it wasn’t. Creating a new account was also very quick and easy - no issues reported there either. We’ll see.... I am quite concerned with the number of complainants from the App Store and via the retailer outlet where we purchased this product from.....

Good but...

We had to change our Wi-Fi name from “\_(0_0)_/“ to something more plain to get it to see our WiFi, this may give a less tech savvy user a lot of trouble!

Connected and started killing rats

The included user guide walks through iOS and Android instructions. You first connect to the Victor trap, then reconnect to your home WiFi. I got network error screens but after 3 tries and after rebooting the router and checking the app again it was successfully connected. I placed the trap under garage shelves where it’s not easy to reach, so the notifications will be much easier than visually checking the trap. Rodent #1 was killed at 2:03 am the first night!

Updated app is broken

I've been using this trap for months and have caught both rats and mice. The new updated app won't reset after a catch. So far, the only way I've been able to clear the trap on the app is to forget it and re-install it. I give up, I just baited the trap and left it on. Hopefully it still works without the app.

Haven’t caught anything yet but app has good articles

Thank you for the great info inside the app. It seems to be pretty cool- will update when I’ve caught something. I think the PB I put in was spoiled and I touched the trap with my bare hands. Changed out the PB with gloves so hopefully it works quickly. (Update- caught a little mouse. Love the way the app notified me even though I wasn’t at home!) I am excited that there is a connected app as I had a mishap with an electronic trap that only signaled a catch on the trap itself. After 6 catches, we went weeks with nothing so I started getting lackadaisical about checking it. I won’t go into detail besides saying I figured it out from the smell, and I have never seen maggots that big before. Eww. Team Victor- I believe that if the trap shows up in the device list that means it’s operating correctly. I know this seems redundant but please add a “device test” button that pings the trap and says its working (there’s no lights or anything showing it’s working). Also, could you include in the status something besides the battery power that states “connection good” or “device on”. If the device or signal drops off could you make a pop-up that says that the device may not be transmitting data to the app. As I mentioned above- I’m paranoid that something is rotting in the trap without my knowing. Pls update and I will update stars. Thanks!

Garbage. Have 3 of these

Constant false alarms of rats being zapped. Traps refuse to reset after a kill, until I email support, wait 3 days and then they reboot their server. You’ll be u surprised to note that the exact same issues exist on android. It’s the backend that’s the problem and it’s been like it for over a year now. Still got 2 traps reporting that they need to be emptied. They have been emptied. This system is utterly rubbish. Don’t buy. Contacted their support again, for the 3rd time. I’ll get a response in 3 days saying they are contacting their developer and then 3 days after that they will reboot their server and things will start working again. This is customer service at its poorest. Update : customer support are literally useless. They are arguing about not being able to find my previous complaints. I emailed them copies and suddenly they can find them. No mention of when they will fix the product, just arguments about when I contacted support. I will file bbb complaints against them too. Utterly useless product.
