The trap itself is fine. Been using them for years (though, as mentioned earlier, all others have a power light diode. Kinda needs one since the app doesn’t really work.) The app is - so far - unreliable in almost every sense. Not sure why I need to log into their server (which rarely connects) just to catch a friggin’ mouse.

Would you like more information than that? Yeah, me too. Now you know how I feel using this app.

I bought this product yesterday for a mouse problem in my kitchen. It took me over an hour to set it up on the Internet because the company was having network problems. I finally got it set up and put the trap out for the night. This afternoon I checked the trap to find it infested with live ants, who ate the bait completely and attracted live spiders to boot. I then went online and the app told me I had one mouse “kill” at the same time I checked the trap. There was no kill of anything ... but rather this trap attracted live ants and spiders. If this trap can’t kill ants how can it kill mice? The battery level says 88%.

The app constantly gives a connection error for a Victor Smart-Kill Electronic Mouse Trap. I will return this trap and try the Electronic Mouse Trap which lacks WiFi but is also less expensive. It’s too bad, I was willing to pay more to avoid the need to check the trap manually, but now there is no point to pay for a non-functional feature.

I had such high hopes. Can’t seem to connect to WiFi. I keep getting the red blinking light that supposedly means I entered the password incorrectly. I will be returning this.

These electric traps are fantastic. They kill the mice but leave no mess. The problem I always had in the past is forgetting to check the trap (so the mouse decays in the older style electronic trap). This app and the new WiFi traps solve that problem! I’ve killed 5 mice since I’ve had the two traps. Worked every time. Reminded me every time. Two suggestions: put your bait on a cut up strip of a business card and fold it into the trap. (Fold it first) The trap stays clean of old bait and never needs cleaning. Just throw out the mouse with the old bait card. #2: for woodstream: add a reminder feature to the app so it reminds you a trap needs reset. If you are not home when you get the alert, it never alerts you again. This needs to be fixed. Awesome product! To people who have had trouble: you need Wi-Fi service in the area you put the trap. Attics, basements, crawl spaces may not have the coverage of the rest of the house. If your location does not get good service, you can easily fix this by buying a $25 WiFi extender to plug in an outlet somewhere in between your access point and the traps. To the person who wrote the review about killing ants: the trap only electrocutes something that touches the two plates inside. Ants are too small to touch both plates. You should put down an ant bait to solve that problem. Then the trap will work fine for mice and not attract ants even with peanut butter.

Couldn’t have asked for a better trap. They just cleared a some land near me for a new neighborhood and since then I’ve been getting tons mice then I got this trap and it literally gets them all and easy clean up to

Bought 6 of these. Struggled to get the app to respond and add the first few. After trying to add the 3rd one started getting Network Error messages. Now the app is completely unusable with a spinner constantly. Do you only have server capacity for a few users? This is unacceptable for the price paid. How do I get this working? Tried restarting app, restarting phone, turning traps on and off. Nothing works. Dead in the water.

I really, really want this app to work, because it would make life so much easier if you have your traps in hard to access places. But it just...doesn’t...work. Constant “a network error occurred” messages. Can’t even log out or reset the password without getting the error. The apps works maybe 20% of the time...if that. For how expensive these traps are I really expect better.
