I absolutely love this app and highly recommend it! My brother and I were out on a backpacking trip in a place with no cell phone reception and the trail was covered in snow! This app was able to use GPS and topological maps to tell us exactly where the trail was at in an amazingly accurate way! It told us to walk 10 feet away and sure enough we soon found the trail. In the new version, distance and elevation are tracked even more accurately than before. And it was already quite accurate! This app rocks and I highly recommend it to any outdoors enthusiast!!

Looks like a great app - good enough that I'd like to use it as a replacement for Gaiagps. Unfortunately, this release freezes and crashes constantly.
Why is it so hard to share your location?

One of the most crucial requirements of wilderness safety is the ability to share your position with others in an emergency. There should be a "Share location" link on the location button on the bottom menu. "Share" under "My Data" on this app means share with printer or trivial stuff like favorite routes or maps. Other than that the app is OK. I can't wait for the day updated US Topo maps will be available.

I love this app. Love the maps, love that you can download them, love that you can track your position without a cell signal, love that you can see your bearing, love that you can trace and record routes on the map, love that you can take notes on waypoints, love that you can mark waypoints. I love it. Hard to get lost with this app.

I use this on my iPhone and iPad, and it is a very useful tool for planning outdoor activities and providing a quality, in-hand topo map while in the field. The ability to have topo maps offline is indispensable, and the free access to lower resolution maps is a very nice touch. I highly recommend trying this out as it has proven very useful for me. FWIW, I am an advanced map user and avid outdoorsmen that explores the backcountry on foot regularly. Quality topo maps in a convenient format have been a game changer, and this app is one of the best at delivering them.

I've used this app for backpacking in the Rockies and the Sierras. Just perfect. Downloaded maps are clear. The many options with waypoints, routes and trail overlays are awesome. GPS is accurate, even when outside of cell service. Best navigation app I've used.

The selection of maps is incredible. Integration with open street map trails is amazingly handy! Ability to download all of the map types for off line access. Easily syncs across devices and great UI. I moved over all my waypoints and trails and deleted all the others! Keep up great work!
