NYT Now

Maimistrue

Why did you kill off NYT Now?! this app is nowhere near as good.

Slow, buggy, clunky experience compared with NYT Now app

pumcpu

Be very still. One wrong flick of your finger will send you to a random section/article. Then, wait... you realize this is all old content anyway since this thing is so bad at loading/updating. Ugh! They are discontinuing the beautiful, elegant and useful NYT Now app, and pushing everyone to this bloated, buggy, unintuitive piece of crap. No thanks. I unsubscribed from my digital subscription.

I pay for your product. This is egregious.

Superb!

An easy way to effortlessly browse NYT stories. The daily summaries are also quite helpful for this busy mom!

an efficient version of the paper with tiresome drawbacks

The app works very well for me to read the paper. Unfortunately, there's no way to elect to receive only news alerts that matter. I'd love to be able to receive push notifications about important, breaking news, but along with those come tiresome, several-times-daily clickbait enticements to check out mere human interest stories. I can find those stories on my own time. Can you please just tell me if Rome has fallen or the president's been shot? Everything else you send is a waste of my time and attention. Thanks for theoretically allowing me to unsubscribe from sports news notifications... except for the ones you still send me under the guise of "editor's picks" or--sorry, how do you justify it?

Streamlined, efficient

No problems on my iPhone 6, great content as usual, easy to use.

Some annoying dis-functionality

bcampbell

But it's my main go-two news app. My main issues (having spent my career in software quality assurance and knowing this is fixable) are: 1) some of your articles seem to open in a web browser format within your New York Times app. When that happens, 9 out of 10 times you require me to log in, to prove I have a subscription! Listen, I'm still in your app, the majority of "your app" retains my login subscription information from day to day, week to week. So, stop asking me to login to all these ancillary web-published articles after I click on them from within your app and they try to load in your app! 2) you should retain the paragraph and article I was last reading when I left your app, and to give me the opportunity to resume reading at the same place the next time I open your app! Don't make me have to hunt for that doggone article I was in the middle of, that you teasingly displayed for one second when I reopened your app, before force-navigating to the latest hottest news. Argh.

Subscription

Bellestyles

Don't even bother with NYT. You can only read 10 articles a month unless you pay a subscription. (Which is way over priced.) Totally ridiculous & waste of time. You're better off using Buzzfeed, Yahoo or CNN.

Won't let me log in

robogobo

Says I'm logged in under settings, but I get the popup asking me to subscribe after ten articles. I'm already paying for it. Boo
