Count it: 1 Screen-Wide Ad every 4 paragraphs

Too much of a good thing. ... You gotta pay the bills; I get it. But between the 'you have no choice but to view this Ad' and/or video, reading through an article quickly is tedious. ... Pay the bills, but remember subscribers are paying for the privilege of reading articles, not for looking at Ads and having their data collected and sold on to 3rd parties. UPDATE: Had hopes NYT would tweak the formula for this update, but no joy. The app has become the best argument going for print copies. .... Dump the app, pick up a hard copy and read through articles in peace without advertisers shouting at you every 4 paragraphs.

Fake News.

This newspaper is mostly fake news.

Very Good- Just a Few Needed Adjustments

In general, I find this NYT app to be easily usable and attractive. I do have a few complaints, though. I don’t like the way the Top Stories page is layed out. The top stories are crowded to the left of the page with the opinion pieces on the right. Please give the top stories their due space. Also, the Opinion section does not consistently display bylines in the general Opinions page. Some pieces do, but often I must open the article to see who wrote it. This is not fair to the writers and inconvenient for me who looks for my favorites. Lastly, I am complaining here because there is no feedback link in the app that I could find. Just to be clear, this NYT app is my first choice very morning and will continue to be.

Times Reader For Over 45 Years

The iPad edition of the Times is dominated by Morning Briefing headlines. It doesn’t even look like a newspaper. Apparently, the editors of the iPad edition are not as smart or well read as those who go online and read the real NYT at the website. The NYT has been my go to paper since I was a teenager but no longer. I now read WaPo much more instead.

Great paper, poor app

DJ JDub

For a newspaper with as much emphasis on digital strategy as the NYT, you’d think the app for the digital version would be better. Have the time it crashes without even starting up (I have an iPhone 6). They have made a few improvements in categories and navigation.

Nice vehicle for obtrusive ads

joelcw

A good app for advertisers. If you actually want to read any content created by the Times, it's difficult. Very disappointing.

Better

Old review below The regular web site loads faster, and I'm on the original iPhone with two bars of service. Often crashes. Avoid like the black plague. Also pisses me off that I can’t zoom pictures on my iPad.

Where are the bylines?

Impossible to follow favorite columnists without bylines! As a subscriber to both the NYT and Washington Post I much prefer the “feel and layout” of the Post for both the news and opinions sections, both of which still look like you are reading a newspaper!

Loaded with advertisements

aap1

As a subscriber of the NYT, I dislike this app because of the advertisement pop ups. On the browser you can install the ad blocker at least.

“Truth” commercial makes me LOL

Manochs

Might be the most biased newspaper in America. Sad.
