Just needs venmo charging!

TeamBLU

Great concept, great execution, now just missing the last shard of convenience! A bit annoying to manually charge everyone on venmo while flipping between apps.

Love the app. But there's a rounding issue.

BridgeLover

Such an awesome app. It's clean and easy to use. And mostly intuitive. But there are a couple issues. Two things preventing a 5-star review: • In a simple example: split a $10.00 bill evenly between 3 people and the app calculates the totals as $3.33 each. ($9.99, instead of $10) ... One person needs to be given the extra cent. I use this app to split complicated bills on credit cards when restaurants won't divide up the bill, but they will take multiple credit cards with different amounts. But the bill has to total up perfectly. If there's one cent off, it complicates things for the restaurant. I don't want to have to add up all the totals at the end to confirm that they do actually add up. • The pre-designated 18% tip is not easily changed to 0. (I often divide up bills and let people choose their own tips to add on after the initial credit card charge is run.) You have to tap "-" eighteen times to reduce the tip to zero!

Simple but missing some VERY basic features

Love the simplicity of the app! But I’ve deleted it because it gave me a few recurring headaches. Most of the time I use this app when the bill is hard to split, so it takes going back into the bill a few hours later to fix things up if we made a mistake. Unfortunately, the app closes a bill after an hour and you can no longer edit! You can’t even see the detail on items per person, only a useless subtotal. This means redoing EVERYTHING again, out of memory. Second thing is that I cannot email people the final details... who consumed what, their share of tips and taxes, etc. You can only send the amounts owed by person, which makes it imposible for other people to audit. And to be honest, not everyone wants to download the app, insert the code, etc. Last, its super annoying that after using the camera to upload a receipt into the app, if there are any items that can’t be read clearly, it just skips then without warning. I often have to go back and forth between the receipt and the app trying to figure out what was skipped or what item was mis-priced. Specially hard if I’m working off an image from my photo-stream. Why not do an in-app check against the total? Warn you of any gaps? I would love to see some of these incorporated into this otherwise great app. Thanks

Amazing

We use it every single time we go out with friends, and they are always amazed by this app!

Question for developers

Molnarnj

How do you undo a mistake? I will be going to lunch with a group that is older and not tech savvy. I did a practice run of this app, made a “mistake” (choosing the “wrong” entree) and couldn’t figure out how to correct it. Great app. I just want to be sure I know how to work it!

Nice concept, Venmo integration broke

oc3068

OCR can use a bit more work, and Venmo integration doesn’t work for anyone in our group. When we choose to pay someone by Venmo, the screen goes to Venmo then blurs out.

Errors

Mitch17384927

Clicking to pay with Venmo results in a blurred screen we can get past. To fix, go into settings to add Venmo rather than adding it within the receipts views. The image recognition is also poor. Otherwise a great concept that will be great once the kinks are worked out.

Still Needed to Use A Napkin

I was so excited to be able to use this app, but unfortunately, I still had to bust out the old pen and paper. One problem that I encountered was with the splitting of items. My friend ordered 2 of one item ($5/item) and I ordered 1 of that same item. All three items were included on the same line and combined into 1 price ($15); however there was no way to assign 2 of an item to 1 person, so we had to create another nickname to assign to her to account for it. In addition, I had difficulty with being able to add the tax—-try as I might to click on the tax line to manually enter the number. In the end I just evenly split the amount amongst our party (even though that’s not accurate). One thing that I thought would be really helpful was if there was a tutorial (that wasn’t real time) or FAQ section—-unfortunately, the only way you can try the app out/learn how to use it is when you actually have a bill to use.

Best tab splitting app!

I have tried SplitWise and Tab. I found Tab to be very easy to use and works fast. I like how sometimes it splits 3 orders of an item into 3 separate items, however sometimes it doesn’t and groups them into 1 item. I am the only one in my parties who has this app so I split the tab for everyone. My Recommendation to developers would be an easier way for me to text send the split results to a group of cell phones.
