Exactly What I Needed

Alycia Jae

I’ve been searching all over for an app like this — I even googled it. I love how it breaks down each section and subsection of my story so that I don’t miss any details or leave any holes in my plot. That’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s user-friendly, the subtle navigation animations are very fluid, and with the split-screen feature, I can write my scenes and have my character’s bio up at the same time for reference. That way, their characteristics remain consistent throughout the story. Best of all, it’s a one-time purchase, not a monthly subscription (why is that even a thing?) and there aren’t any hidden “premium features” that you pay extra to unlock. The example story that comes with the app is a good reference if you’re not sure what to put in the boxes to build your story. It’s seriously the best app for writers that have trouble structuring all of their ideas into a story that makes sense. It will be the best $5 that you ever invest into your work, believe the hype!

Absolutely love it - minor addition needed

I have literally been looking for something like this for years. All I ever wanted was a simple way to organize my story notes and to be able to write down scenes and rearrange them with ease. It’s been a nightmare doing so with various word docs so this is heaven sent. The only thing lacking that I can see is a place for general notes. I have things like name lists or general background that I’d like to keep with the rest of my story notes but they’ll have to stay in word docs for now. I think it would be a great add on and I’ll hope to see it in the future!

Fantastic little app!

This app has everything you need to get started. The UI is very helpful- it’s simple and easy to learn. A suggestion- as of right now when I’m under the “Scenes” tab I can only see one colored bullet point for the main plot. It’d be nice to see bullets from the “other plots” section underneath so I can see everything at a glance on the main page. Other than that I thank the developer(s) for making this a one time fee! I was having so much trouble finding a story organizer that didn’t require a monthly subscription.

Amazing by don’t make us pay more!

Hello, I love he app and am actually using it to write my first book! It is very useful but why do we have to pay again for the Mac version? It is even more expensive! Hopefully you see this and can change it or maybe not but thanks anyway

Font too small

Great, but the font is too small and there is no setting to change it. iPhone X user.

Great

Initially I was a bit disappointed, but now...

This app is my go to app for getting ideas quickly organized and seeing how things play out. Being able to move scenes around especially helps me figure out the order of events. Best thing is, I’ve done all this in bed, laying down, just moments from falling asleep when an idea seizes me. I fill in as much inspiration comes to me, and then I pass out without worrying about forgetting something. I would recommend this app to a friend.

Great app

I use bought this when my wife brought it to my attention. So far, I love it. I do think it would be better if there was a place to have maps and/or other pics. Also, if there was a way to have it sync iPhone/iPad so I can continue with writing no matter what device I have with me.

Great App

I’ve been looking like an app like this for a long time since A Novel Idea was taken down. While the app is great, one suggestion I have would be the ability to organize character functions better. As an example, every character under “protagonist” would all be grouped together. You should also be able to just type in the character function rather than choosing. It could help organizing groups, like having all people of team “A” and people of team “B” all under one file or headliner. Beyond hat, great app and definitely would recommend it to others.

Afraid to trust it

When I purchased this app, I added a new different-named project on each device (iPad pro and iPhone), and I turned on sync, and lost the tutorial project and one of the other projects and they never came back. Though there have been updates since, I'm afraid that sync errors will delete my projects. I don’t know how to get the sample project back either. This is a deal-breaker and there should be protections in the sync facilities to stop this from happening.
