Amazing, but......

God•Is•Love

I LOVE THIS APP!!!! But the only problem is the subscription! This app is a must have for story writers like myself, but unfortunately I don’t have the money to spend on this! I love the app but I’ll have to delete it after the 7 day trial...???? Please remove the subscription! I really don’t see the need for it...

I once had a better version of this app for free, but for some reason it was taken off the App Store. I wish this app would at least let you set the relationships for each character. It doesn’t let you do as much as you would expect from the price.

Bought this app - now updated to require a subscription... uninstalled. Moving on. **update** Wow! Awesome. I’ll reinstall.

Great App / Great Developer

If you are a creative writer, this is a fantastic tool to have in your writing toolkit! Even if you think you don't need it, you should take some time to consider its features and benefits. As a screenwriter, I find it is excellent for helping me outline solid stories with rich and well developed plots and characters. It goes beyond just “fill in the blanks” and encourages you to consider the “why” behind your creative choices. This app can save you countless hours of rewrites by helping you lay a solid foundation to build your story on. The developer also cares about their customers and is very responsive to resolving issues. Story Planner is an essential part of my creative writing process and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a tool to assist them with story development. Happy writing!

Thank you!☺️

I want to say thank you for making this app available without a subscription fee. I know that’s a huge sacrifice. These days it feels like every app requires a subscription, and it’s frustrating to keep track of each one like a monthly bill. I hope that users of the Story Planner will donate to you all when they can, and that you all are able to receive funding and peace of mind to continue maintaining this lovely app. Thank you!

Not a fan of the new update

I’ve always loved using the app to keep track of my stories, and it’s done a good job of it. I never had any problems with the old format and versions. When the app updated, I was a little upset. The cute, colorful look of it has bee traded in for a minimalistic/professional look. It’s a little dull. The colors are red and white, and the white background makes it harder to see the different categories that used to be separated by boxes. I am thankful that all of my stories are still on the app, but if I try to create a new project, the app crashes and doesn’t save any of my edits. Overall, I’m sad that the app took a direction towards something more visually simplistic, but dull.

Great App For Building Ideas

This great app just keeps getting better. The iPad version and Desktop version sync perfectly. It’s the app I use on the road for scene and story development.

Needs more customization but overall pretty good

This app works for me fairly well most of the time, however there are a few suggestions I have that I think could make it better. I don’t usually plan my stories, I just start writing and see where it takes me. Most of the time when I plan a story, it makes me feel constricted or restrained. What if I want to change a little detail in the story later? I might have to rewrite the entire plan. And I would rather just write the story than mess with that. But sometimes planning does help. Maybe I don’t have time to read at the moment, but I need to remember some specific details. This app helps me to get it down. But, there are a few things in this app that do once again make me feel something that I think I’m going to call writer’s claustrophobia. I think that we should be able to set custom options for the character and scene types. I had no idea what most of the words meant at first, and so I had to look at your definitions. But then I started to feel restrained again. There are characters and scenes in my story that don’t seem to fit into any definition, or fit into a bit of both. What am I supposed to do? I can’t just mark one that they fit in, and I can’t just ignore the type field. That’s my big problem, now for a small one. I think that there should also be someway to say what chapter this scene takes place in, or if it takes place during multiple chapters. Before this out, I didn’t even know that acts were a thing. And honestly, it’s not that helpful to me. Sometimes, I create multiple acts and use them as chapters. But then I feel like somebody’s going to come up to me and say that I’m using the app wrong. I know that I could just say that in the notes field, but then I would have to tap into a scene every time I wanted to know. This might sound like a lazy thing to say, but I still think it would be more convenient to see what chapter a scene is in at a glance. Also, I’ll admit this wouldn’t be as much of a big deal for me if the App Store editors note or the story didn’t say something about this app being able to tell you what chapter a scene is going to be in. Thanks for reading this whole review through. Please don’t get the impression that I don’t like the app, I really do. In fact, I use it a lot. But it’s because I use it a lot that I’m giving you this feedback. I hope that it helps. Edit” Wow, this is great! I can’t believe you added in some of my suggestions! Thanks a lot!

Non-subscription success

I’ve used the product only a little and it seems great. Mainly this review is a shout out to the developer for keeping the app a one-time purchase AND still updating the app. That demonstrates dedication to both your product and your users.

Almost perfect!

I just found this app and i think it is awesome! I would love an option where you can write actual chapter drafts within the app so I could keep everything together.
