I bought the Skyroam Solis X due to living in an area in the USA where I am not able to get internet service due to being in a bad spot. I get plenty of cell service, so that isn’t an issue. When I first turned the Solis X on, the lights didn’t want to become static. The cell reception light even turned red. After using my cell data to look up the answer to this issue, I followed the instructions that asked me to go outside for better connectivity. The lights finally went static and I was able to connect my cellphone and computer. I found that Skyroam provides a single free day pass for new users to try out the service. I was thrilled!! It seemed like such a lovely thing for them to do. However, after activating the free day pass, I found the internet connection on my phone to be very slow, and on my computer to be spotty. Sometimes, internet browsing pages would be fine. Other times, they wouldn’t load due to an error despite having loaded before, and other times it would tell me I didn’t have internet service despite the Wi-Fi connection being full and steady on my computer. Using my data for answers again, I found that it could be the connectivity of the day pass. I plan to try a GoData Monthly plan tomorrow and we’ll see. However, I am extremely unhappy with the start of this service.

I have traveled from Florida to Montana with this device over the past 5 months and I can only say that the service is absolutely abysmal... and that's if you’re even able to connect in the first place (which is rare). The service is SO SLOW (even when the month of data has reset and is fresh) that it feels like I'm back on dial-up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. You'd be better off purchasing a hot spot from your cell phone company. To top it off the app is also terribly coded so when I try to access my subscription to cancel I get a [1401] invalid token error and if I try to access my payment methods the loading icon forever spins with NO results. I am basically being forced to pay $100 a month for a service that DOESN'T WORK. 100% DO NOT BUY/USE THIS PRODUCT OR SERVICE.

I’m so fed up with apps that demand so many permissions. This app does NOT need access to my location. If it does, then re-engineer it not to because there’s no legitimate reason for this.

Don't even bother with this product, let alone the app.

If I could rate this lower than one star I would, it's so painfully bad and completely worthless. If you have a family of more than one person I highly suggest you do NOT invest in this piss of a mobile WiFi. You're only allowed 1GB of 4G LTE data for the MONTH, not sure about you but I use maybe 5 or 6 GBs a DAY. The subscription is utterly useless and you end up having to pay day passes (which cost 9 dollars a day) in addition to the $90 a month subscription for so called "high speed data". It's probably the biggest scam I've ever fallen for and I cannot stress this enough. If you're traveling anywhere and are concerned about internet just book an Airbnb that has free WiFi or just buy an international data plan from your cell phone provider. My Skyroam also insists on restarting by itself at least 2-4 times a day and then refuse to connect to a data signal, it's so infuriating. And it's not like I'm in a country that has no internet, I used it when I was in Toronto, Canada. Yeah so don't get it, waste of time and money.

When the Skyroam works, it’s great. However, the app is SO frustrating. Errors when trying to do anything with adding data / checking data availability. I have been able to have luck using the mobile “Account Page” site through the MOBILE website, thank god, but the app is the worst. the desktop account page doesn’t work either as it clearly was only designed for mobile.
