The focus rating is not accurate. If you are connected to Bluetooth at all and make a call it goes against your focus rating. So for instance I just got the app two days ago and have not mad one call while driving, but have made a call in the car at my destination or about to leave. My focus rating is at 84% for hands free calling. So I have to disconnect from Bluetooth to make a call to keep this from happening? This is a cool idea but I have a discount I’m trying to get here. Please fix this!!!
Whoever wrote this part of the app must have never driven an inch off the road. Stupid scoring. Even when I go for short trip and conscientiously smooth brake at every stop I still got ding for hard brake. Does this programmer even know what a freaking hard stop is?
I use this app to make sure that my driving is as safe as possible.
A lot of the time, if I make a phone call while parked, before driving, it will show my entire trip was on the phone. I’d like to see it recognize when you pull over to accept a phone call as well. Other than that, it seems to do a fine job.
I don’t always agree with the results of a drive. For example, coming back from a lake park a deer shot out of the woods and across the road in front of my car. The app registered that as excessive braking. Well, it was a necessary quick action and a good reaction. This being said, what I like about the app is it keeps me aware of my driving style. I have been making better driving choices for several years, but the app lets me see when I am unaware of an action. Short version...the app keeps me honest!
This app is a battery drain on my 6s. My battery was down in the 40% range by 11:00am after my 13-minute drive to work. After uninstalling this app, I’m at 70% by the same time of day. My battery has never been a problem prior to installing Signal, and I’m not going to pay $50 to replace a good battery for such a nominal percentage off my insurance. The battery costs more than my ins discount. Not to mention the app is terribly inaccurate and requires too much user interaction to be close to accurate.
Keeps saying I don’t have location and motion data turned on which I’ve always had on for this app. Also continually says I need to turn on notifications in phone settings but there is no option in phone notification settings. (EDIT: was told to reinstall app which solved notification issue only.) Also says I need to always have Bluetooth on when my car doesn’t even use Bluetooth.
Ancient GIS data constantly says I’m speeding when speed limits increased 1-2 years ago. Cannot differentiate between divided toll lanes and free lanes with different speed limits (penalizes me for doing 75 in a 75). Routinely penalized for phone use when I’m not using my phone at all. Misses drives. Now they’ve registered the Signal service mark so we’re supposed to uninstall and then install a new app because they couldn’t figure out how to rename (others have). Lazy developers!!
