Mixed feelings

Monkeyhaas

I have mixed feelings about this product. The app is simple and I like the UI but it's very buggy. A good example is when the temp changes from Fahrenheit to Celsius by itself and won't change back to its previous setting. It works 80% of the time- I find myself checking the ac/heater to see if the unit actually turned on and 20% it is not. A lot of times, the system doesn't work at all and my solution is to reset everything and start over which sometimes works.

I wish this could turn the AC on and off smartly to save energy

While I do appreciate that the Sensibo Pod shows an area's live temperature, the app and product is basically the same as setting your AC to the automatic setting already programmed to the AC unit. Besides letting you control the AC remotely (heat vs cold, temp up/down, power I/O + enter/leave geofence with IFTTT), the Sensibo is not the Nest equivalent I had heard it to be. -------You can achieve the same set up far more cheaply by buying a smart switch (w/ IFTTT) and setting your AC to automatic on a reasonable temperature. Then you can use the geofences to smartly control power away from home. The right smart switch could also work with Apple HomeKit's Siri and/or Amazon Alexa-------

It doesn't work most of the time.

About a year ago I got a window A/C with a wireless remote control and about a month later I got the Sensibo unit. It did work perfect for about eight months but then after app updates it was never the same, now it doesn't work 90% of the time, all started by loosing the ability to control the fan speed, now it doesn't work remotely or even at home, it just doesn't communicate with the A/C unit, My work schedule is different every day, so I just like to turn it on about an hour before I get home, but that's not the case because my home is hot with the A/C off on my arrival, I'm very disappointed because this unit is not cheap and the only thing the support team says after numerous emails is that the are working on it. I wish I could get my money back.

Needs improvements

Installed unit and app yesterday and it does not work consistently. The unit turned on but when I increased the fan speed it didn’t. Tried multiple times with same result. Then I went to turn the a/c off and got an error message. Then all of a sudden the fan speed increased but the app showed the fan still on low speed. Needs Work.....

Almost there...

No idea how to integrate it with Alexa and the app crashes when I click on “about”. Little things like that-

Key Feature Missing

Martin_SFO

So far so good the app works, I’m able to schedule my heat pump. The fan swing function does not appear to work but that minor. I’d like to see a daily temperature graph, This is a very basic feature that is missing.

It works

The APP itself does what it is supposed to. From the app I can switch the AC on/off, increase/decrease temperature, set heating/cooling and set the fan speed high/low. I did run into trouble setting up my AC with sensibo. I had to manually choose the AC from the list on their website. The description of the ACs on the list could have been better. An improvement could be to be able to manually add AC from the APP.

So far so good

I installed yesterday and for me the operation of my mini split seems solid. A few quirks and a crash or two with the app, but nothing critical yet. Climate react needs work to make it more user-friendly, I think, but I have very high hopes for it leading the way to Sensibo Sky being a full-fledged smart thermostat. So far I cannot find in the app how I can turn off the annoyingly-bright LED indicator lights on my inside wall unit (it is an option on the remote that came with the mini split unit), so I hope that gets resolved. If it doesn’t, I’ll have to keep the factory remote handy just for that one thing? That doesn’t seem optimal.

Horrible

Blackspin

This app is just horrible. I consider myself to be text savvy but I’m having so many issues just trying to connect to this Sensibo..?
