Nice product, HORRIBLE app

mavisxp

I have four Sensibo Air units in my house, and besides the ongoing lack of promised HomeKit integration (which I work around with HomeBridge) I've been really pleased with my purchases. Until now. The latest version of the app is absolutely HORRIBLE. Besides being ugly (which I admit comes down to personal preference), they've made shortcuts completely useless now. Not Siri Shortcuts, but shortcuts - the kind you can put on your lock screen, etc. Even with 'Open app when run' unchecked, the app has to open every time you try to execute a "shortcut," which turns what USED to be a simple thing (iPhone laying on the desk, tap the screen to wake it, slide to the right, hit the shortcut button to turn on/off the A/C) into a much more complicated procedure: iPhone laying on the desk, tap the screen to wake it, slide to the right, hit the shortcut button to turn on/off the A/C, get a passcode prompt to unlock the phone, pick up the phone to initiate FaceID scan, wait for the passcode screen to come up because you didn't scan your face fast enough, unlock the phone, wait for the Sensibo app to open, wait for the "shortcut" to execute. Am I the only one who thinks this is absurd? Better yet, didn't Sensibo's developers actually TEST the app before releasing it? This is ridiculous. (Yes, I know, first-world problems. But I DID spend hundreds of dollars on my Sensibo setup, and having its functionality nerfed like this, a year later, is incredibly irritating)

Climate React Broken

Angela R. A.

I’ve loved the device and the app for the last year, but since the last update, climate react settings can no longer be adjusted. It just takes me to a blank grey screen and the only way out is to force quit the app.

Yikes...what happened

Kpb124

Continuously getting worse. Now the Sensibo no longer turns on or off my heat pump at all. Climate react is broken with new update. What a mess Update: Sensibo was quick to contact and work on solving the on off issue. Some adjustments needed to be made because of the update.

Does not allow remote to be updated

afaleadytaken

I tried on several times occasions to update the remote but it locks up after it says that the remote was correctly identified I tried this with several different remotes and got the same result Also, multiple presses of the temperature adjustment buttons are needed for it to change The old app wasn’t great but it worked a lot better

3.3: In a "major update", app took several iterations to be fixed, now good

Earlier versions worked fine. Basic, but it worked. 3.3 fixes that. It won't even start anymore. I'd have rather you supported mode-specifc settings of various A/C & remote pairs (which is where your software really falls down) than do a major rework that chokes on app load. UPDATE: Removed the app. Rebooted the phone. Installed 3.3.1 - we're back to the pretense of "working". On first touch, I sharply dislike the new UI/UX. UPDATE 2: Getting used to the UI. No more horrible than the original one. Second star for correctly modeling my remote unit. Finally. Third star for tying into Homekit for GeoFencing. Finally. UPDATE 3: 3.3.4 seems to fix most of the remaining bugs. It’s actually a 4-star app now. Geofencing needs a little more polish, the interface for temperature-triggered settings is still a tad clunky(but you’ll use it rarely once set up). But it’s a good app now. And, in this version, it hasn’t yet “lost” a command to the unit, whether manual or automatic - which was the last of my serious issues.

Blah to the update

Alf!

So they did an overhaul of the app to give it a new cosmetic appearance. It does look prettier. The main screen has all the buttons under the temperature setting, probably fine in bigger phones but on my smaller iPhone it’s impossible for me to get to some of the buttons without accidentally adjusting the temperature or hitting the wrong button as I try to get it to scroll to the other buttons. But mostly it’s fine. It was fine before though. Siri doesn’t work as well anymore. Also most times when I open the new app it is a blank interface when I open it, I have to do close out then swipe up on it to do a hard close, then reopen. And I can’t set the timer. It lets me “set” the timer, but there’s no way to save the setting, so after I set it the only option is to cancel and exit the timer setting. Developer response was to tell me to download the newest version of the app, which was silly since it was the newest version of the app that I specifically pointed out I was having trouble with. So oh well. Still mostly works for my needs, just a little less than before.

Update 3.3.4 broke a section of the iOS app

jaedeezy_fo_sheezy

One out of 3 units’ Climate React screen comes up blank/stuck. Restarting or uninstalling the app doesn’t fix the problem.

Ver 3.3.4 broke HomePod integration

jcaycs

Up to right before the update, I loved Sensibo. I even purchased 3. Siri/HomePod integration worked amazing. My friends would chuckle every time I told my HomePod “it’s hot” and the AC would turn on. This functionality no longer works. The shortcut only works if activated directly from the phone, which at that point, opening the app might be quicker.

So. Much. Better.

MegatronUltra

I can't speak to Siri or Homekit, but the app went from "look... it works and I didn't have many options before" to "this is decent app" Well done.

Update

Love Sensibo. Great update. However the climate react setup screen just goes grey. Please update.
