The Bee is not a national paper like the Times or the Journal or the Post. It covers its area and California news as its primary focus. It does a good enough job although if they had more resources we could hope for more thorough coverage.

As a former resident of the Sacto foothills and mother of residents the Bee keeps me in touch. Their political coverage of CA politics is outstanding.

Very little about The Bee's website or app, either approach, is viable. Touch the arrow on a video (print people too in love with videos) and nothing works. Read a story, finish it, get suckered to another possibly interesting story under Trending, press on it, and again, nothing. The Bee was late to the party in web participation and building its website. Starting on the cheap, it's been retrenching ever since. Hard to navigate, frustrating to use.

The content of this app is not current or to date consistently. Most of the stories are hours sometimes day old other news outlets are faster to post what’s really going on a good portion of what I read on here is stuff I already heard about hours before I see it on here
Horrible reporting

This newspaper is a shell of its former self. Once praised for their reporting, this paper is now just a liberal editorial. If it could balance things out and simply report the news, it could call itself a newspaper. It is simply a propaganda for democrat politics. It does a fine job at that, but reporting news is more than that.

Has login, subscription, and customer service problems

This newspaper will not last long in the digital age if it can’t improve this app. It is not possible to subscribe to the digital form of the newspaper using the app. You must use a web browser instead. There is no way to log into your account once you’ve subscribed, using the app. A so-called login page under the customer service option does not have a username and password but instead a phone number and address, and is meant only for use by those with a home delivery subscription, even though it doesn’t say that. When you try to comment on an article, it rejects your attempt with a message that you are not a subscriber. I am a subscriber there is no way to tell the app that I am. To comment on an article, you must go through a social networking site to log in. The Bee does not provide a way for its own subsccribers to comment using the App and their Bee account!!! There is no search function. The app works well for reading articles, although the print edition mode is not pleasant to use and I don’t use it. The headings such as top stories, news, and latest news don’t differ very much. These app problems have been present for a year or more without being addressed. This is not a hopeful sign.
