Left wing garbage

Otiseldo

I used to read this site to catch the local ’news’. Unfortunately, the Bee interjects it’s left wing bias into almost every news story. No wonder they are failing and their daily paper is only approximately 6 pages. This paper is garbage. Years ago, although they were always left, I felt they actually tried to provide the news. Unfortunately, now this rag is no better than the National Enquirer.

Interactive maps useless on iPad

Amriverfan

Once again this morning the Land Values map is like looking through a narrow slit. No way to make it usable. I really miss the old newspaper-look app of a few years ago.

No search feature

Can’t find a specific article I am trying to find. Stuck with the same old headlines.

Started charging for articles you can get free any where else

I’ve had this app for 5+ years it was an easy way to read on local sports and news. Today they locked me out of articles saying to now subscribe and pay. Well I’m good this app isn’t worth paying for was just good enough to keep free. I can find every article somewhere with no problems

Not willing to subscribe

Phterr

While biased, this used to be a decent source of local news. Now they are locking out viewers after a number of uses. Trying to force them to pay for a subscription. I might even consider that if it did away with all the ad’s, but just not worth it either way. There a lot of other sources for news. Most free.

The new app is just as bad

drtaxsacto

Periodically the app forces me to go back in and revalidate my credentials. This new version suffers from the same problem. The content of the Bee keeps getting thinner and thinner, except for their increased attention to consistently supporting the left on almost everything. Local news is sloppy and biased. One other problem. The Bee is offering a discount for the e-edition if you use the Google platform. Thus if you are an Apple user you get charged more. I value my privacy so try not to give Google more information. We live in the Sacramento area about half the year and so don’t want the print edition and would like to stay up on local news - with the mix of rising prices, hostility to Apple and thinning coverage it increasingly seems less worth it.

Sac bee app is the best in the area.

Terrible App

abidtraveler6

Looks like we will need to cancel our subscription after 42 years. I do not want another online listing of every event in the world.

Stuck in Ad - can’t read paper

barb6345

I have complained to the Bee customer service, If you touch an AD, you are stuck in that AD. No way to close AD, No X to get out. I have to turn off my iPad to be able to go back to reading paper. Very frustrating. About to cancel my subscription after 40 years-
