I've been using this app to record on my iPad with a Focusrite iTrack Solo. While the basic recording interface and editing feature set is fine, but there is a key weakness with the app that renders it practically unusable for me. Namely: the absence of a low latency monitoring mode. Yes, my interface does have a means of "direct monitoring"--however, even with the mic preamp cranked the audio comes in at such a low level that it requires a substantial amount of gain added by the app (I believe this to be a problem with iOS and not the app, so I don't hold this against it). Having said that, unless one monitors via "play through", one cannot hear the gain being added on input, and because the latency is so severe it's incredibly distracting to perform with (especially vocals or voice over). Furthermore, the ability to reshape fades seems to have gone missing, despite being advertised as a feature. I'd have contacted Rode about these problems directly, but there is nowhere on Røde's site to submit support requests about the app. Too bad, if they addressed these features I might be inclined to rate it much more favorably.
I love to make podcasts and videos with this app awesome and has no problems
I was expecting slower playback with out changing pitch. However it does shift the pitch when playback is slowed down.
This recording app has surpassed all my expectations, and as an audio pro for over 40 years.... I'm very critical. All the right audio formats, bitrates, clock speeds, everything needed. The little mic. Just goes with me everywhere.
Software for iPhone 3G is too outdated. 4.2.1 iOS will not work with this app!!
I have used the LE version for several interviews, one lasting more than 30 minutes. The app worked like a trooper. I found the quickest method of moving files to my computer from my iPod Touch was through iTunes. The only drawback is that it took me a couple of attempts to figure out how to prepare the file for transfer. If my IQ were a little higher, it would have gone more quickly.
For the uninformed, just a simple swipe-to-delete to delete recordings. Love the new update! iPad UI is wonderful, stability has been vastly improved - couldn’t have asked for a better update.
The current version quits every time I try to File Share/Create an Audio File. The file may be too big (41 minutes), but then why isn't there a limit on time/file size if that's the case? I don't want to have to spend $6 to get this one file, but I guess I will if I have to.
After an intense search for a successor of the BlueFire app, I realized its reincarnation is Røde rec - solid as the origin, simple and 90% fitting to my needs... cannot verify the minus-reviews of other users. I ran it on an iphone 4s@7 and On an IPadMini@6... made large test recordings of >1hour. Works. The last star remains for separate input channel volume control. The app is one of the few ones which allows for stereo rec via usb! I use it for tape recording digital conversions: perfect! Worth to bye the full version.
Crashed as soon as I opened it. I can't see this replacing digital recorders. I own the Zoom H1. This does not even come close.
