Overall fun to play

eantonionunez

Just downloaded the app yesterday, so looks promising. I don’t like that the game doesn’t recognize three-fold repetition. Probably because it won’t recognize a draw, but even throwing out the rule book on chess, that’s a crucial part.

Great concept, awful skin

geoffrey liu

It takes effort to make a chess skin that atrocious. If I stared at it any longer I’d probably have an epileptic seizure. Hope chess.com or lichess buys this flaming garbage dump of a UI and incorporates it into some interface where the designers aren’t drawing black and white chess pieces while on a heroin trip.

Meh

The game itself is good, but the ads are downright terrible. Unclosable on occasion.

Chess without strategy

Yeseryuga

When they said “throw all your knowledge of chess out of the window” they really meant it. Unfortunately, that means any sense of strategy and fairness as well. It’s a neat concept, but when your enemy is stacked to the brim with queens and you have no easy way to plan your moves, everything seems totally random. I found the few games I played to go quick, with me having little choice but to move pieces at random to keep myself out of check.

My bff.

Fails to implement rules

Wulebgr

This app implements an intriguing idea that would be better with some restraint. For instance, the random setting of the pieces could limit pawns to the second and seventh ranks. Two features caused me to stop playing after three days—at the end of a game, an ad appears that is impossible to close. Ads are fine, but show them for a few seconds. I had to close the app to start another game. Even worse was the AI’s failure to execute an elementary checkmate with three rooks against a lone king. Instead, the position was repeated endlessly—three times should have been a draw. As a non-intimidating way to learn chess, this app is an abysmal failure. The developer needs to learn more than how the pieces move.

Stuck in a repetition draw with AI. No draw?

TwoQueens

What gives? You did use a chess engine that understands the rules of chess, right?

Fun! Turned me back into liking computer chess!

Chess Freakazoid

Great game. Contrary to another review, so long as you are under a rating of 50, you get more queens and rooks. It is quite fun to have 5 queens and slice your opponents army apart with them. Makes chess fun again, like when I used to play against my dad as a kid!

very funny

bigbeeftomatoes

this game is awesome and a silly, but if it had a regular chess mode, it would be incredible. i know it’s been out quite a while, but still hoping It gets added in sometime

Just make it regular chess

SamuelFrancisBorden

I’m not a fan of the gameplay with the random piece possibilities. I’m an old fashioned guy and prefer the classic chess. However, I love the clean and pleasing interface. Has to be my favorite layout of any mobile chess game. Those being said, I would love if the same developer made regular/vanilla chess using the same interface. PLEASE.
