Signing in to see who is at the door.

tirwin1964

The only problem I have is by the time I get to see who is at the door, they have left because it takes to many steps to answer. I have to sign in every time with my thumb print instead of just clicking the notifications. My sister has Ring and she never has to sign in. The picture is clear is the only good thing I can say because I’m so frustrated that it takes so long to get into the app. I don’t understand why I have to sign in every time. I can literally be down stairs in the basement and walk a flight of stairs to answer the door before getting on signed into the app to see who is at the door. Please fix this!!!! I’m so disappointed. Update. It’s been almost a year and it is worse than it was. Logs me out every day, I have to put password in for everything thing. I can’t use it. Some people tried to break in to our house last week and and I couldn’t get the doorbell to connect in time. It’s useless . RCA clearly could care less about their product. I wish I had read the reviews before purchase.

Sign in constantly

all javsudhdb

Every time you open the app you have to sign in does not save info. takes too long to do if you need instant access to camera

Login problems

dzno

Requires frequent login. Face ID no longer is an option. Not practical for answering the door

Dysfunctional app.

Any time someone rings the bell. The app kicks me out. On top of that it won’t sign in with finger print. You will need to enter password manually. It totally defeats the purpose of the app. RCA needs to work on that and update the app for functionality. Secondly the audio is very bad and when it records the event.

Near useless as a doorbell

Yes, the camera works. No, you can’t answer the doorbell, because by the time you login, whoever it was has left. The problem is the ancient bug that logs the app out after a couple of hours of inactivity, making touchID and faceID not function.

Unreliable

Val3kaitae

Does not work well for log in and software features are sub par to competitors

Keeps login out!!

Since the last update it jus keeps login me off!! This makes no sense how are you suppose to answer the doorbell when you have to login every time!

No way to change phone number

This app works perfectly on Android, but signs out users frequently on iPhone. The developers must not consider iPhone users a priority. Also, huge security gap with 2-step verification. Once 2-step is enabled, if you change your phone number but failed to update the RCA app beforehand, you no longer have any control over your account. That’s a massive security risk! Honestly, Apple should pull this app, even though it would negatively affect me. I’d rather go without the app, if it means a stranger cannot gain access to my doorbell.

Works great at my gate!! - not now!!!

I had to change my review, going from 5 star to 2. Updated again 12/16/19 Just changed to one star. It’s bad enough I now have to keep relogging in —REALLY?!! Now it’s offers the CApcha verification, but it won’t accept whatever I type the accurate letters and numbers in! Ridiculous! Now the camera is worthless!, ______________^^^^^^^^^^^ My first irritation is after a slight power interruption I had to physically go to my camera to push a restart button - and I couldn’t until I got home! So who was at my door while I was gone? 2. I stopped getting notifications and then noticed it had stopped recording. I can still live view, but, again, don’t know who was here while I was gone. It’s still not recording and it has unlinked my phone number and the app doesn’t respond to me trying to link up again! 3. There’s no option to contact. So to whom do I submit problems to? Very frustrating! This was my first review: Ive had this video doorbell about a month now. I was hesitant to buy it because of some of the negative reviews. I have to say I’ve had none of those issues written about. Perhaps those issues or bugs have been fixed. The set up was easy. I have it set up at my front gate, which is about 150’ from my house. I already had a power supply there for my automatic gate opener. Took me a few days to fully understand how to view the videos. At first I thought I had a lot of missed action because they weren’t showing up in my messages. But then when I change to view videos I could view everything that had come within range of the motion detector. I’m not sure why everything doesn’t show up in Messages. But I’m glad I can view all action through videos. Prior to this I had the I See Bell. My attraction to both was no monthly fee to view My videos. The Isee had a lot of glitches at first but software updates seemed to solve. The main problem with it was it’s limitation to the 2.4 WiFi network due to its distance at the gate. It stopped working after a little over a year. Then I began searching for a new video doorbell. My criteria was a 5 GHz WiFi network and no monthly fees. While more expensive the RCA had what I was looking for. I view it on my iPhone 8 and iPad. Because I was not hooking it up to a prior doorbell wiring I did need a power supply so I bought an 18 volt doorbell transformer, UL certified Power supply adapter transformer charger compatible video doorbells. (18v AC/500 mA). Don’t go with less voltage. So one month in I’m very happy with my purchase
