Handy but glitchy

There are problems for those familiar with spreadsheets. It is very limited on what can be done in regards to formatting and design. It also crashes often and there are times hours of work goes unsaved because of it.

Of my 234 apps etc. on my devices Quip is in the top 5. Why? Because I use it everyday for creating and editing shopping lists and packing lists. Unbelievably easy and STABLE. The tech people at Quip will get back to you immediately unlike for example Textilus!

Quip is simple, elegant and beautiful. I use the app for writing everything from emails to product requirements. Sharing could be a little easier, but this is an enterprise product so I understand the restrictiveness for sharing documents. But overall love the product.

For what we do it is absolutely awesome. Anyone throwing one star at this software is retarded. I have paid version. I like desktop version the best, and our iPads and iPhones out in the field integrate very very well. Allows my guys to get in and out of job notes quickly. All Job notes, pictures, parts list are always where you need them. Allows simple field workers to get in on a bit of the office scene. Problems: Trying to back out of a page always takes you to the edit page, super annoying, but it keeps you from forgetting the changes. Incorporating a weekly schedule would be a great idea. One that can let you drop users into the schedule and link them that day to a job folder. Sometimes there will be a doc that says one thing (or lack there of) in the overview. Only until you click on it do you see the correct material on your doc. That is very irritating. They really need to come up with a better way for us to get a customers into one of our docs. Every customer I've sent a link to says it's too much trouble. So it completely defeats the purpose of saving time and actually ends up costing more time. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT BY FAR! getting non users to be easily able to jump in and makes edits/notes. Complete fail on this one. All our customers we tried to be collaborative with said "hey I tried, but I just want the job done that I hired you for, I don't need to go through all these hoops to be a quip user when I hired you for a 2day job, why don't you write down what I told you and put it into quip yourself". They mentioned if it was a couple of speedy click to start editing they would, and that would save me massive headaches. QUIP PLZ FIX THIS Other than that we love it. We feel it could do so much more and would be downloaded by everyone if it weren't for the last couple hic ups mentioned above. Quip your 95% there. Let's finish this and make it revolutionary.
