I recently set up an unRAID server and was looking for a way to have messages pushed to my devices. If I’m on the go and something happens it’s nice to receive a notification. Setup was really easy and after my trial period 5 bucks was totally worth it. You can even create custom notification icons!

3rd party site asking to use pushover requires just two keys, an API Token/key and also 'Your User Key.' How difficult should it be to get that from the Pushover web site? Nope. Spent ten minutes copying all the different keys - I have one for the phone one for the app one for my account - but none are labeled as the site wants them. Too much grief. Would change to a five-star if I could get the thing to work easily.

The documentation is fantastic. App works great, fast and responsive. I would recommend this to anyone looking to receive quick push notifications.

I have been using this app for over 2 years. The best way to describe it is it just works. I use it to get critical messages from work and with this I’m always informed of what is happening. My job supports a hospital, so if something goes wrong peoples lives are at risk. This app is the one behind it all.

I like this app. Is it possible to change the push logo to my own? I would really like to brand my push.

I’m one of those people who never rate or review apps unless they stand out from the crowd. Pushover is one of those apps. Every app supports push notifications for their service, but if you are looking for an app that makes it easy to integrate push notifications with anything else you can talk to, this is the solution for you. In an afternoon I was able to build a notification system for ONEMI alerts for Chile using Huginn and Pushover, and the bulk of that time was spent on configuring the Huginn agents. Pushover made it easy to define an app and a delivery group that others can subscribe to, so even non-technical people can benefit from having public safety alerts delivered to their devices. The pricing model is sane, and Pushover is an app that I am happy to pay for. Truly top notch.

It’s been rock solid and very reasonably priced. I use it to get notifications from my web server (PHP) when I get a new user. And I have my home automation system send me a Pushover notification when my garage door is opened.
