as a network engineer (and somewhat coder), I frequently get very important alerts I have to be able to depend on arriving. Well some of the software I use has companion apps that allow me to be a notification to get notifications via push messages, I was looking for a bit more flexibility and customization. This app/service is perfect! I was able to quickly migrate some of my alerts by using the custom email address they give you. overtime I’ll upgrade (on my end) some of these alerts from using email to using a more reliable HTTPS API method (with email as a fallback). I can’t believe the service is five dollars for life as I’m sure that rate will go up at some point but either way it’s a great service (I paid up as soon as I got my first test alert).

Used this to setup a quick notification on all my iOS devices when someone rings my doorbell (iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and etc). The folks who made this are super developer friendly. It was a complete breeze to get setup and running with a simple API, all details immediately available. They even have it set up as a free trial for 7 days by default without entering payment info. I wish all services and app experiences were this easy to use. Easily well worth the $5 even for my super limited use case. Great work, folks! Kudos to the developers who made this app and service!

I wanted to send myself push notifications on my phone but was dreading the idea of having to get a developer license, learn iOS development and maintain a notification pipeline. Luckily I searched for “notifications as a service” on Google and Pushover was the first result! This app is exactly what I needed: an API to sending push notifications to my phone and desktop. Being able to send to multiple users (through configurable groups) is a great feature if I end up expanding this service past just myself. And you can send 7,500 requests a month for free, which should be more than enough for a personal project. Great UI and usability. Highly recommended!

Super app. Use to monitor things around the house, ie notify me if I’ve left my garage door open for more than xx minutes. Works very well with Node Red.

It works so well and I’ve integrated pushover notifications across a number of scripts I maintain. One thing I’m wishing for is widget support to show the most recent notifications. Please, please, please! Hope it’s a feature already being worked on. :-)
