This app can be quite handy on the go for looking back at references. As a suggestion, please add a feature for users to add Web Page references to their list of references and an option to export references in APA, MLA, format etc.

annotations not syncing with Zotero

snoop_z

WARNING: this app appears to have been abandoned by the developer - no updates since 2016, no replies to email inquiries, and their website has vanished. Used to be a five-star app... but I cannot recommend entrusting your important files to an app that is not being actively developed nor supported. —————— FIX FOR ISSUES SYNCING WITH ZOTERO VIA BOX At some point in late 2017, annotations that I would make in the app (highlights, handwritten notes, inserting a text box) no longer got synced back to Zotero. Not sure what precipitated it, but I was able to fix it by creating an empty text file called “lastsync.txt”and placing in the Zotero folder within Box. —————— PREVIOUS 5-STAR REVIEW PaperShip has proven to be an amazing tool for handling papers in my Zotero database. And the developer is constantly making incremental improvements in the app. I prefer to read scientific papers on my iPad mini instead of a Macbook screen or external display — it just feels more natural to me, more like holding a copy of a manuscript or a journal in my hands, and I would rather highlight text or add annotations with a stylus than with mouse and keyboard. This app is perfectly suited to this task. My only complaint is the lack of any granular control over files that are on one's iPad - there are no settings for max total file size, or selective download of specific collections, and no way to clear an entire local cache other than signing out of my account.

Freezes with large Zotero libraries

G8briel

I have a very large Zotero library and this app now doesn't work at all. Just loads for hours.

Best zotero app out there for iPad

Nepatango

After letting it sync my large zotero library it has been flawless, and appreciate that there is ongoing development and improvement.

Grateful to work from my iPad!

I'm not a "real" researcher, but I do need citations for the articles I use, and access. This app does what I need, makes my iPad more useful, and lets me keep working any time. It adds to the usefulness of Zotero. It would be helpful to be able to add folders from the app, but that may be a technical issue with Zotero. Thank you for this app!!

Best app for Research with Zotero

Metalliblack

I use Zotero everyday as my main reference manager for my Ph.D. Classes. Zotero helps me sort all my references and PDFs. Papership lets me read my PDFs on the go and as an in app purchase it lets me highlight, annotate and share in the PDF file and it syncs with Zotero in all my devices. I also got the PaperShip app for Mac which lets me do the same. I just wish there was an app for Windows to use while I'm at work in the office. Best app for my research indeed! I use it on both my iPad mini and also my iPad Pro. It works perfectly with Apple Pencil so it is a great investment.

very unreliable

Rhenish

While overall a good concept, this app freezes very often when scrolling, rendering it virtually useless to rely on.

Great App

Enjoying it on my iPad. I made an in-app purchase to annotate. It works great so far. The thing is I downloaded it on my iPhone, restored a purchase but does not unlock annotation on my phone. What I annotated on iPad would not appear on my phone. Is this a bug? :-/

The best paper management tool

Paco120934812

I love Mendeley, but it has become stale in iOS. PaperShip adds many much needed features, like annotation. Particularly, allowing you to annotate papers with any other app in iOS. PaperShip + PDF Expert has become my perfect combination for paper classifying, reading and annotating.

So Far, Soooo Great!

Ash?Love

So far, I am loving the PaperShip application! It's a game changer for a researcher on the go, like myself... it's exactly what I was looking for and I'm so grateful to be able to access my journal articles and organize them from anywhere. Looking forward to updates and possible upgrading for more features.
