The desktop version is totally a piece of trash. The mobile version is even worse.

Now, using new version and papers3 is impossible to synchronise my library between devices; specially now that my library is close to 5000 papers, I don’t have space in my Dropbox and through WiFi sync is impossible, is close suddenly all the time, still using in my laptop but not in my portable devices

Pros: Does its job well and can sync with existing Dropbox account. One time fee. Good annotation interface with exports. Cons: Bookmark sync between devices seems spotty. Would like CLI for more programatic interaction.

I loved the app with Version 1. I could save tons of PDFs and organize all my medical documents. With the most recent update everything has started disappearing. I’m talking countless hours of work. All my documents. Gone. DO NOT BUY THIS

This app still hadn’t been updated for the iPhone X and the last update was 6 months ago. While it still functions for basic usage, many issues remain based on other reviews. ReadCube buying out the developer appears to mean the end for Papers. I’ll probably start migrating my library to something else soon.

I used iPad pro 9.7 before I bought pro 10.5. After I bought my new one, I realized that handwriting with apple pencil was not as smooth as iPad 9.7 . I emailed papers customer service a couple month ago but still they did nothing for that.

The app really needs the ability to draw annotations and highlight with the Apple Pencil. PDF Viewer and PDF Expert both have much better annotation feature.

Quite possibly the worst app I have ever used for academic writing. Constantly crashes, does not have correct metadata, developers do not reply, no help database, should I go on? I lost two manuscripts due to this. No help. Had to redo it all. And the references were in my library, but the program was too unstable. So use at your own risk. You have been warned.

One of the features of this app is that it “supposably” connects to Dropbox. Every time I try it says that the connection failed. Very unreliable.
