Needs improvement. I love the Mac app but using this makes me want to switch to another reference manager altogether. I'd like to be able to find and download PDFs for existing references.

Great app

Been using papers for my dissertation and love it.

Time saver!!

I love Papers! It saves me so much time. I'm terrible at remembering reference info and with Papers I can always find that paper. My entire library is always with me when I need it. Customer support is also awesome. My only request would be for a multi factor search.

Excellent academic paper archival system

A really useful and indispensable tool for the serious researcher!

The best way to find, read and cite literature

Aetrix9

I am a Papers user on my Mac and iPad back since the beta and the app keeps getting better. The syncing is solid, citing is easy, and finding papers is as quick as a keyword search. The great advantage to Papers for iPad is in reading and annotating articles.

A Great Way to Build a Useful library

I've used Papers over all its iterations. They're always improving it. This version took a bit of getting use to, it may suffer from software bloat, but overall it works well, and does what I need it to do. I can't provide a comparison with other library like collections, because I don't use them. In any case, this software works very well. The support is great, and development is on-going. What more would one want?

A great app

It is a useful and meaningful app for me.

Fantastic research tool!

The combination of easy to use iPad app, sync, and powerful Mac app is unbeatable. So far I have not found any flaws, I am totally impressed. I've been using Endnote for years, then used Mendeley and ReadCube, all good programs, but Papers beats them all! Keep up the good work!

Excellent.

The first actual digital research and review tool worthy of the moniker. Recent update has brought this application to the forefront of its genre. When mobile, spontaneous research can continue easily and effectively.

Rarely Updated

I've been careful about not moving too many PDFs into an app that seems to be only lightly supported by its developers. Although Papers has long been one of my favorite bibliographic managers, as I move more of my daily work to iOS it's simply too difficult to move multiple files between platforms, and I'm reluctant to fully transition to Papers until the developers commit to regular timely bug fixes and updates. Please consider fixing the current bug that causes the first page to be zoomed in no matter the settings. When using the app in landscape mode it would be nice if all pages were the same size when two-page mode is selected. Even on an iPad pro there also appears to be occasional crashing and freezes, likely because the app hasn't been updated at all for iOS 10.
