Frustrated with the apple update I tried several before settling on Overcast. It is smart, simple and just enough features so you can make multiple playlists and quickly see what’s new.

Best pod cast app I've used. One bug on iOS 11 is banner on home screen if often times out of date and showing incorrect timeline or event podcast being played. Would be great if Sonos support was available.

I've never had an issue with this app and I've never had an excuse to use the one that came with the iPhone because this one is PERFECT.

What good is a podcast app that won't play video podcast? The app has somethings I like but over all there is nothing about the program that makes it any better than the apple app. If you start playing video I'll look at it again. Update I’ve settled on having two podcast apps on my phone. Overcast for audio and downcast for video.

Would like to see a fiction category on the suggestions page, as good fiction podcasts (besides the bigger named ones like nightvale and the rest of the collection) are hard to find organically. It really is the best podcast app out there otherwise. Works great on Apple Watch.

I received a bill for $9.98 for a yearly subscription without my approval. I downloaded the Overcast app and later decided I didn’t want it so I deleted the app. The app did what it was advertised to do. I really have no idea why I am being charged for a yearly subscription.

All of the below still applies. Buy this app. --- Overcast is an incredibly useful app with an attention to detail that most lack. The features that set it apart from the pack are subtle and finessed - upon launching for the first time, you won't know what is so great about it, but after a weeks use, nothing will compare. Smart Speed, Voice Boost, and it's cloud syncing back end have been rock solid. I withheld a star because the visual design is not on par with Castro, my previous go-to. Though it is more useable, I don't enjoy using it as much. The bare UI and careful content strategy are well considered and implemented, just wish there was a bit of fun and beauty tucked in.

I will never use another podcast player as long as this one is available. It just works and has all the features I need.

I went looking for something new and found overcast. It has been great. I have had it for 3 months and have had a great experience thus far.
