Solid podcast app

Only advice I can give for listening is to spend more showing me how premium is worth money. For podcasters, my motivation to share is for the functionality, but I am hesitant to push it because nobody can easily rate my show with this app. I would plug it all the time if I could get rating through it.

I had recently moved to Android from iPhone6. I am back on iPhone just for overcast. The playback speed options, episode prioritization and continuous playback are simply unmatched.

I’ve been using Overcast for years and pay the annual fee (it’s worth it). The only feature that’s missing is Chromecast support so I can play my podcasts on my Google Home speakers.
Persistent battery drain, bugs and crashes

Overcast has a battery drain problem. I lost 34% battery overnight after installing Overcast, just like the last time I tried a few months ago. Without Overcast I lose 3-5% overnight. Also, if you subscribe to more than about a dozen podcasts, the app starts looping and crashing and restarting itself. It seems to choke on dealing with too many feeds. I’ll wait a few months and try again, because I prefer Overcast’s look and feel. I’m on an iPhone SE.
Constant crashing

I love overcast and have used it for years, but the most recent update has completely broken the app. I can’t even download a single podcast before the app crashes for no reason. I’ve got an iPhone X, so it can’t possibly be because of old/slowed down hardware. PLEASE fix this, and I’ll happily switch my review to five stars.

This app has everything you’re looking in a podcast player! Sleep timer, connects to all pod casting services, speed control, voice boost - you can even remove pauses with smart speed. It’s an incredible app - we’ll done app makers, this is s dream!
