I haven’t been able to find another podcast app that is easier, smoother, and has the same features as Overcast. I’ve tried, looking for the next best thing, and I keep coming back to Overcast. Great job and keep up the quality work!

This app used to be amazing. Over the past couple of weeks it has been all but unusable. Incredible delays on everything – pauses, plays, scrolls, you name it. I can’t tap a thing without waiting several seconds for the app to respond, if it responds at all. I installed the latest update (4/28/18) eagerly, hoping it would be a fix. No such luck. Now, the app is completely dead. Every time I open it, it shows a black screen for several seconds then crashes. PLEASE find a fix for this. I want the Overcast I had a few months ago...

The steps that the developer has taken to inform and offer privacy controls in this latest version are just icing on the cake for what is already the best Podcast player out there.

4/28 For 30s I was able to download an older version onto my 4s (running iOS 9.5.3) I have rattling around. That was going to be a solution to the inability of Overcast to run in the background and let me use my 6 Plus to do anything that requires memory, power, etc. Overcast isn't allowing older version downloads- this is a YUGE problem for me! ______4/19/18 it's looking like this crashes when I edit photos. Who doesn't want to spend time listening to pods and editing? Obviously this can't continue. In fact, maybe it’s lost the ability to run in the background with many other apps because it stopped when I began typing here. ___________________________________________________ 4/18/18 Crashing constantly. I've restarted it at least a dozen times today and it's cut my listening ability in about half for the last several days. Adding an episode to a playlist is a slow, slow process; it's frustrating and exhausting. I even downloaded a few pod player apps but have more interest in seeing this fixed than using something else. ___________________________________________________ I've been using this since Apple released iOS 11 and broke the native player (and landscape keyboard and I don't remember what else…). Turns out I love having more flexibility for playback speed and silence shortener. Critics of the increased speed don't understand our brains now register that as normal and "normal" speed as slow. Strict and limited choice of 1.0, 1.25. 1.5, 2.0 don't work because the line isn't smooth and proportional. Overcast is missing important stuff- "listen to next" or Cloud storage. I have about 50 podcasts and some are serial fiction or investigations so I want the season handy even if there's no chance I'll see any Wi-Fi all day. Sometimes simple access to the season is all I need so "up next" list add on or downloading from the Cloud would satisfy. It might be the only way to get me to update to the point of eliminating the landscape display since the trade-off hasn't been worthwhile yet.

It keeps crashing every time I open it! This has never been the case before, and I’ve used it for probably close to a year now.

App completely stopped working

All podcasts are completely inaccessible. The app just shows a screen that asks if you want to use your email, and no matter which button you choose the app says there is no internet access (even though there clearly is). Do NOT use this app if you want reliable access to your downloaded podcasts — utterly non-functional.
Simply the best

Overcast is simply the best podcast player there is. The stock app was always just okay, but its latest incarnation is terrible. I’d always heard about Overcast but was reluctant to switch because there was a perfectly good app right there. I SHOULDN’T HAVE WAITED. If you are on the fence, jump on over. It’s a better experience. It just works.
Freezes and quits!

I have had overcast from the very beginning and shared with many friends/family members who paid for overcast. Now the app freezes, delays, and crashes. Deleting the app and reloading doesn’t help. Please fix!!
