App won’t open

Like others I’m suddenly experiencing the total failure of the app since the last update. Overcast is an app I use everyday. I’ve recommended it to others and until just now I would have given it 5 stars. Please fix it. Now.

Overcast is a great improvement over other podcast platforms. It works in a straightforward and predictable way!
Was amazing but now slow and freezing

This app was amazing, but recently every time I open it up it takes 10 seconds to load. I sit looking at the icon for a while. Then when it finally loads it is frozen. It takes several more seconds before I can scroll, and even then it constantly freezes. I thought to unsubscribe to a lot of podcasts (I’m subscribed to maybe 25 at the most) to see if that helps, but every time I delete one out the app freezes again for at least 5 seconds. I’m running on an iPhone 6+ so maybe that’s the problem, but I hope this can be fixed because this has been my go to podcast app.
Erased my playlists

Used to love this until it started randomly erasing playlists that took a long time to create. Frustrating...
The best podcast app– but this version has some bugs

Title sums it up. Don’t get me wrong– you should absolutely get this app. But lots of design bugs in this version– random blue dots showing on the screen, weird blurred lines screen when I pull down an episode card, elements randomly appearing letterboxed on the sides, etc. Given the developer’s wont to call out buggy software– I feel okay writing this here!
Best way to listen to podcasts

Since I got into listening to podcasts in 2014 I have exclusively used the apple podcast app. Progressively through the years it has gotten less user friendly and more unnecessarily complicated. A month or so back I decided to look into alternatives. I tried downloading specific podcast show apps as well as a few general podcast apps. Overcast is by far the best app that caters to the listener. It’s easy to use, you can customize features to fit your listening style. I will never use another app to listen to my plethora of podcast shows!
Good but falls short

The lack of Cast support makes it fall short for me. If that isn't important to you then it's good otherwise you may want to look elsewhere.

The app is *reliable*, unlike Apple’s Podcast or “The Podcast App”. I don’t think I’ve ever had Overcast crash on me! The worst it ever behaves is that every once in a while it hangs while downloading an episode. The app’s ads are excellent - they don’t pop up like the obnoxious stuff “The Podcast App” has, and there’s no audio component. Plus, they all seem to be for other podcasts! I’ve found one new show through them, and I’m sure I’ll find more :) Plus, it’s super customizable! Tons of settings to adjust, and a great interface to allow you to apply certain settings to multiple podcasts at once. So, yeah! I’ve used Overcast for a few months now, and it’s all-around fantastic!
