This app is easily 100x better than the iPhone podcast app. I’ve used a few different podcast apps to see which one is he best and this one is hands down the best and the easiest to use
App suddenly freezes on open

I haven’t really been using the app that long; only since about April (or whenever Apple decided that it would be better to play episodes in a “custom” order by default rather than consecutive; this broke the podcasts I typically listen to because they’re mostly news) This works fairly well, but recently it has started freezing on opening. I don’t know if it’s because of the amount of podcasts and it’s just checking EVERY podcast for an update (this would probably cause it to freeze since I listen to quite a few, but I know for a fact they aren’t updated everyday) or the amount I have downloaded (I try to delete the episodes I listen to, though, so this seems less probable) This is just annoying because I haven’t actually finished an episode that is still sitting in the player and can’t get to it while the app is like this (nor can I get to my backlog to delete stuff to actually test if that’s the cause)

Whoever built this app should go take a class in user friendliness. This app couldn’t have been any worse and less user friendly. It also refuses to download episodes even after I click on download.
Hand down, the best out there

There is no competition here: overcast is simply the best podcasting app out there. Smart Speed has saved me over 60 hours (!!!) and the UI is dead simple to use. I have found some issues with subscribed downloads not starting right away or spontaneous pauses (which I think might be my car’s fault) but these by no means detract from my overall experience.

I wish I’d discovered Overcast earlier, after having been driven crazy for years by Apple’s awful podcast app. Overcast gets everything right, plus features I’d never even thought of. Love it.
Smart Resume is great!

I have been using this app since its release, but I never before left a review. The latest smart resume feature is what prompted me to give it a 5 star rating. Not that all its other features are not excellent, but it was this feature that made me realize how much thought the developer puts into this app. The best podcast app for iOS.
Intuitive and useful set up

Just when I think “I wonder if this app will...” I’m able to poke around and quickly find out - it does! Smart list making, setting individual speed settings on my talking podcasts and music podcasts, sleep timers. I don’t ask for too much with the over 30 podcasts I subscribe to, but it’s all there and more!
