Just Wow!!!

Irish_Vixen

UPDATE: I am still completely amazed at how OnSong has improved my entire performance. I do not go on stage without it! The best part is I have is set up on an external monitor hidden in a case that looks like an instrument monitor. Nobody knows it is even there which makes me look good :D I bought this so that I could consolidate my chord charts (digital and otherwise). It is just blowing my mind. It can control my lighting for me without even having to touch the screen (I use foot pedals to navigate through my sets). I no longer have to rely on my friend who may have had enjoyed himself a bit more then he should have prior to the performance. I can send charts to those who may be joining me on the stage during the week so that we are all on the same page before we get to the performance. I am ready to start using the Connect feature so that I can have an extra device with me and whoever ends up with me will see everything I am and I can keep my eyes on the crowd and not sending cues to whoever. The best part of this is when I had questions, the OnSong crew actually provided answers and helpful hints that blew me away even more. They provided clear consise answers and links to all their video tutorials. The app is better then any software/app that I have paid hundreds of dollars for in the past.

The reason I bought my iPad and just got another one.

So many people refer to a “killer app” and for musicians, this is it. It keeps all of my music organized which alone is amazing. Then I can pull sets and flip though my songs with a foot pedal. It reduces my stage and mental clutter. But wait, there’s more! I have my songs set up to send midi to my vocal effects processor, keyboard and pedalboard - all when I switch songs. I can now seamlessly move through my set without taking my heads off my guitar or keys. I’ve seen on their tutorials page that you can do projected videos and stage lighting too. Seriously what other product can you get for so little money that does all of this and does it so well? It may have a learning curve but that is because of its flexibility and power. So listen. Don’t walk. Run to your Apple store and get an iPad and get this app.

Can’t live without

I have been playing for years, had file folders full of old song sheets. Tattered torn well used, full of notes, timing cues, etc... since I have been using OnSong I have not needed to resort to paper anymore. No more sheets blowing, falling off, getting out of order before a performance. I love it. I keep a version on my phone as well, you never know where and when you might be and need your music. This app is a mist have! Support has been awesome as well, Cudo’s to the support team!

OnSong: Does everything I want it to do.

I’ve been using this program for over two years. Well worth the price for me. Only had one problem and that was resolved quickly by the onsong team. Good product. Good support.

Very good music management app!

JackHackwhacker

OnSong is the best app I have seen for managing, creating, and displaying all my chord sheets. The number of features is staggering, and includes features for live performances. Additionally, OnSong is continuously improving this wonderful app. Their support team is very responsive as well. I would give them 6 stars if I could! :-)

Great app, amazing support

JonneyGee

OnSong has been amazing for me and others in my band. It’s very versatile in what it can do and it’s easy to learn how to make charts that work with the app. I also love being able to control my music with a foot pedal and OnSong makes that easy. Furthermore, their support is out of this world. I’ve had a couple of minor issues along the way and they were quick to offer a solution. They have packed a lot of features into the app but it’s clear that their top priority is ensuring the app always works flawlessly. I know I can depend on OnSong to work each and every week, even with updates that come along. Major props to the OnSong team for creating a great app and supporting it very well.

Incredibly Powerful Professional Tool

RubyMoon

I’ve been using OnSong for over three years to manage my set lists, lead sheets, and charts. My whole band uses it now. It is an absolutely indispensable tool for professional working musicians. While there are other song management apps available, none are as powerful, full-featured, and well-supported as OnSong. There isn’t anything this app can’t do. In my band, I play keyboards and sax (and a few other instruments). My setup is quite complex. I have a rack of three keyboards and an effects box for the sax. Changing presets on all those units between songs used to be a major headache. The band always had to wait for me as I hurried to set my patches and prayed I got it right. OnSong changed all that. I connected everything to my iPad via USB and MIDI, with OnSong at the top. Now, all I have to do is swipe to the next song, and instantly all my keyboards and effects are set via MIDI. It even sets the tempo on the delay. It’s a fantastic, slick, professional setup that I simply couldn’t pull off any other way. Here’s another example of how my band uses OnSong. When our lead singer sets up her setlist, she beams it to the lead guitarist. Sometimes one of our singers plays drums, which makes it difficult for her to manage...so her OnSong is set to slave off the lead singer’s. It’s a bit complicated, but it works beautifully. The OnSong support is out of this world. I’m not kidding. I had a really confounding issue with MIDI commands not firing as expected. Jason, the president and lead programmer, worked through the issue with me. His patience and persistence was remarkable, and we finally resolved the problem. They’re constantly refining and developing this app. That’s important to me. I really depend upon OnSong, so it’s comforting knowing it has such active and dedicated support. OnSong is a complex app with many nuances. That means there can be a learning curve. But it is imminently worth the effort, and there are even online videos to help out. The documentation is good as well. If you require a powerful, professional, indispensable tool for managing your music, OnSong is the one. No doubt about it.

OnSong

I have been using OnSong and several of their tools and addons for several years. Using the app in various situations and gigs, OnSong is a great way to store and organize your music charts. It is feature rich and easy to set up and configure. They also have great tech support and customer service. I have used OnSong while working in three different project and It helps me keep my project content organized and up to date. It's my opinion that once someone learns to properly create and/or edit charts in the chordpro format, the OnSong app does the rest! OnSong paired with the bluetooth pedal is a complete solution for working musicians! (OnSong, Drawing tool & OnSong Console)

Great Update! Works again with older devices

Nitpick Pete

Has not worked well with iPad2 for nearly a year; multiple start-up crashes before it would run, and then very slow and jittery. Finally had to jump ship and go with a different app for the live shows. Pleased to see the update and it seems to be much smoother, now. OnSong is a superior app IMHO, and am anxious to update the library a start using again.

OnSong is ESSENTIAL!

OnSong is intuitve, esy to use and will immediately prove its worth to any msucian in need of a way to organize their collection of charts. What will never cease to amaze you is how many features this incredibe app holds just under its simple interface. Anything you can think of it likely already does... you simply only need to make use of its countless funtions. It i SO much more than just a replacement for your binders of sheet music. I cannot work without it and the one issue I've had with the app, the development team replied within hours that a new version that corrected my issue was already in the pipeline and was released within 3 days. It's this simple... if you gig, you need this app.
