Not User Friendly....at all.

Tavster

This app was not user friendly in any aspect. Editing songs was a huge hassle. I ended up spending more time making songs look right than practicing them. Huge waste of money...

I have downloaded and bought a half a dozen apps to try getting my lyrics on my iPad and every time I would run into issues. Either I had to buy something else or it wouldn’t work like I needed or something. Until I got OnSong. Thank you. Yes it may cost a little more than others but if you add up all the mistakes of buying other apps that doesn’t work right. Well. You get the ideal.

The most intuitive software I have ever experienced. Thank you

My Very Favorite App

AROD2

The one app that keeps me using my iPad is OnSong. Whether you are an amateur, just starting out, or a professional musician, you would be amazed at how this app will help you. I have over 4500 song sheets and can share them with any one I play with. I can easily add new songs. Any song I hear, I find the lyrics and chords and port them over. If I don’t like the key it’s in, I only have to make a few taps and it all changes to the one I want. I put notes on the sheets and mark them up. OnSong Team is always improving the App. And they have the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.

Been contemplating trying this for a while...

JoeFindley

It seems to have great potential, but right now it seems like a glitch factory. It has crashed or frozen multiple times, and eats battery like crazy. The "flow" function generally erases the song instead of organizing it, and I haven't even gotten around to trying the higher functions yet... basically I'm disappointed. Hoping there is an update coming to address the glitches, I feel like a $25 app should run more smoothly.

Quirky!!!!!

Mad in St Louis

I love the program when it works! Has a mind of its own to often. It needs stability! I use pdfs and word docs. Zoom has mind of it's own. It won't scroll to bottom of page half the time! When you need it the most it fails! I'm looking for something that works. I am so done with this app! And yes, I'm using the latest version. And yes, my iPod is up to date too! 6/15/18 meant to say IPAD. All my songs are “word docs” or PDF. All my docs are “courier new” size 10. All I want from On Song is storage and display. The program is quirky. I can’t trust it for a gig setting. I have about 5 books created and the songs seem to migrate to other books mysteriously. I like the set list stuff. Zoom and scroll to bottom of page is my biggest problems.

Suggestions

Funfunfun=)

I initially input full documents of many songs as individual songs, and that freaked it out so it shut down a lot. I'm now going thru the long process of inputting each of those songs individually, hoping that will make it shut down less frequently. So far I have two things that really annoy me: 1) When it decides a song is in a key different than it is, so the chords you see in edit mode are not the same chords you see when looking at the song. This drives me crazy. 1.5) It would be great to be able to split a song into multiple keys and not have it auto-change the chords. 2) It would be SO helpful to be able to insert photos similar to sticky notes. I am a visual learner and write notations to indicate the melody or my own shorthand for riffs/strumming patterns. I would love to be able to insert photos into the songs in order to have this important information all in one place. I haven't used the app much because it's been months of me inputting all my music the way I want it, and still relying on my paper music instead. I'll update this review in another few months when I finally have everything in and have switched to only using my iPad.

Full of features and bugs

MusicMark

I want to like this program for its many cool features, but it’s slow, buggy, and crashes frequently. And when it crashes, my set lists disappear. Lovely. The only saving grace is automatic backups which I then re-import. I only bought OnSong to collaborate with a friend who is using it. But I think I will go back to SongSheet Pro — not as many features, but it’s stable and reliable.

Great program. Eliminate big heavy song book

Duracel777

Great program. Support service is excellent. Kendra very quickly answered my support question. The recommendation worked great??? I have a lot of people at our ukulele club using OnSong. I am so happy with the product and excellent support. I only recommend OnSong to our members and other clubs that ask when they see us setup our iPads. They have their big book that loves to make their stand fall over and the music fall on the floor.
