Coming from a college music major who plays multiple instruments, this is my favorite app to use with my band and praise teams. Also great way to input original tunes as well. Best music app I have ever purchased for my iPad.

OnSong has a ton of features. Like, a ton. While some are really useful, they add to the density and complexity of the product. You can have Libraries, Books within Libraries, and Setlists too. It can read straight PDFs, but mainly works using it's own text-based formatting and metadata system. You can assign metadata like artist, key, etc. - but that seems quirky and often doesn't work as advertised. OnSong has a considerable CPU load, too - on a first gen iPad Air, this app struggles to keep up when changing songs or making edits, and battery drain is quite high in use. I know I need a new iPad, but geez, it's just text. Overall, I like OnSong and use it with several other band members in my projects. We all find it good enough, but kinda wonky, and we all get just a bit creeped out by how much the product is preconfigured specifically for the Christian church/worship market. I understand that that's where the money is at the moment, but it's been a bit off-putting to several friends as well.

I recently changed from using a binder and music stand to OnSong. It's a great app! There is a bit of work involved in entering songs, but they make it easy to type it up on a computer, then put it into Dropbox and import into OnSong. I prefer that to typing into the iPad. Once it's in OnSong, you're good to go! Transpose, make notes, use the draw feature to "write" on your tune! It's very powerful!

I have used OnSong through 5 generations of iPads. Need I say more. The only problem I had was downloading songs from google to the app. I works great on safari.

Been using this app for several years. Always had great support and updates. Recently I ran into some bugs importing through PCO. Tech support took days to respond to the first email and never responded to several follow up emails. Disappointed.

As long as you do all of your organizational work up front it works. The traditional method of "fix, revise at rehearsals" ends in somewhat of frustration. A great set of features but they are not so clear to get to. Importing songs are best done by going from Dropbox side. Otherwise you may be doing a lot of pecking at the screen. The UI can be clearer and I wish the developer used more of the "onion peeling" approach to guide users through. Drawing on screen is an IAP along with the console mode. I understand features need to be monetized but it's rather unfortunate. I would recommend prospective users thoroughly watch/read their tutorial before purchasing.

I love this app!!! I have used it for over two years playing piano at church and I would say I'm very impressed with it. The customizability is absolutely fantastic and they are constantly improving. Also there is a vast amount of tutorials and information as well as tech-support that can help.

Great App... We use this at our church and all of our music is on our IPads so we save a lot on money on printing. We haven’t printed music for over a year thanks to OnSong. The things I love: 1. Change keys on the fly 2. Keep all my songs in one place 3. No more printing 5. Able to “beam” a set to our band There is so much more but I love about this app, but try it yourself! It’s simple to use and easy to tweak the lyrics and chords if needed.
