The failure of connectivity

Andymd

I got this cloud device recently and I did enjoyed a lot until the machine got disconnected from the computer, the computer app is 32 bits and the computer supports only 64. So the disconnections is going for almos 6 months, you have to sign in the web in order to save and manage your files instead of your computer, DOES NOT MAKE SENSE, isn’t it. The company always said they are working on it, but nothing is done. The bottom line is that the machine works perfect but it has connectivity issues. If that is not important for you, go ahead and get it, is a good device, other wise look for other brand that offer desktop solutions, don’t get stock in the web site.

An Excellent “Cloud Service”

Muonic

Once upon a time when I first purchased a My Cloud Home I was specifically looking for a way to not have to have files tied up on my computer while not giving the whole farm away to a cloud service. I accepted loss of features in that goal. WD has iterated over the past year and a half or so and all of my complaints have been fixed both on the device and the iPhone app. Files is now supported. Sharing folders is less clunky. The photos indexing a album collaboration is actually useful and more.

Lack of security...

AD Hasnain

I have reported this before but nothing improves. I gives a password protection but after sometimes the app forgot the password. It doesn’t ask for any authentication. This happens in ios as well as in android. I hope you’ll look in to this issue and solve it quickly. This shouldn’t be too hard for u.

God Awful Slow

jema1987

The app is wonderful but the device is terribly slow. Even with fiber optic connection with 400-500Mbps DOWNLOAD/UPLOAD speeds! It takes double the time minimum just to open basic small files. It doesn’t matter what device you use. Windows, iOS, etc

Complicated for user

ijaeerules

It’s very hard to do copy and paste in different folders. They should have different layout to view all files like thumb, list, gallery views. I was using iCloud and paying monthly but I wanted to save money so I purchased personal cloud device. But few things are so complicated to use so I’m going to return this device and going back with iCloud. I hope they’ll improve few basic necessary features I may try again. Thank you.

Works great!

Its simple to use and very dependable!

Using other apps to open common files?

Tbone Jake

HEIC is the picture new standard for cell phone photos. Having to use a different app to open these pictures up defeats the purpose for having My Cloud Home. May as well use Google photo then. This is a definite need for change, not to mention video player for cell videos. Make this change and it’s a 6 star app. Besides, we’ve already spent over $200 for the box unlike your competing applications.

Six duplicates!

BillPMP

Software is garbage. Thanks for making 6 copies of every pic and video and telling me to delete them MANUALLY.

My cloud

This is what I’ve been looking for. Going to upgrade to dual raid for advanced backup protection soon. Please keep working on this whole cloud thing! I even use the built in Plex app. It really doesn’t get much better then this.

Works as advertised, not completely intuitive

Ben - great password keeper

I’ve had a My Cloud Home for over a year now. The first year I got it set up and right away was able to off load a load of files soaking up data from my phone and laptop. I’ve only recently gone back and tried to use some more of the intriguing features like sharing access to folders, accessing the data from off site, and creating recurring back ups. I’ve also been toying with adding more users and managing their access levels. Although it is very capable, it’s not always intuitive on how to manor it do what you want.
