New app experience is awful

The new app is aesthetically very displeasing and difficult to get around. It also keeps removing my saved face recognition sign in which is frustrating when I need to quickly check a balance.

I think this is the first app review I’ve ever left. The old app and website were great. Why change something that was broken? The UI looks like it’s from 10 years ago. Face ID worked for a little but now it’s impossible to turn on again. I wonder why they switched from their old mobile app/website vendor?


Horrible new app. Did anyone actually test it?

The app update is beyond horrible. I am curious if anyone at the bank actually has tried it or tested it? It has Face ID that you can enroll in, it maybe works once or twice at most until you have to delete it and read-enroll. The layout is no user friendly. Try going to details of a transaction and it goes to an error page and the only way to get out of it is kill the app. The list goes on. Being an all developer myself, I understand that things can go wrong... but this is absolutely not acceptable and I question if it has been tested or if a ux designer has seen it.

EDIT: Yes, you can turn it on with an obscure setting. Its nice of you to post this here instead of getting support via the email you've spammed on other reviews (which no one has responded to). I've had it on, but it doesn't work. It glitches out and then cancels the Face ID. Then you need to go BACK in and re-enable it each time. Really sad to be leaving, but this sealed the deal for me :( They just recently updated their app and website and its awful. Not only did they shut off access to all of our bank accounts for DAYS (meaning I had zero way to check my balance, and the phone lines were down), but then they rolled out the worst banking website I've ever used. I'm going to be leaving MCU after this redesign and how horribly they handled this change. I've already picked a different credit union and will be swapping banks after this next pay cycle. The new app doesn't allow face/Touch ID, and has pop ups everywhere with spam about various banking features (even if you've already closed them or are using the features). It takes 5+ taps to just get to a single account balance, and they've gotten rid of most of the features. Oh yeah, and they just changed everyone's account numbers but they're impossible to find now, so I keep having to log into the full website because I can't use my phone to find them. (Which also made my BRAND NEW CHECKS useless, but they won't refund me for the ones I bought THROUGH THEM under a month ago).


Can’t log in

Every time I try log in to use the app I get a message saying “Your session has expired.” So I have to return to the login screen. Can’t access my accounts whatsoever

Hopefully this app gets a few more updates. Yes it has Face ID, but works intermittently despite enabling it. If you don’t log out of the app when done ( usually just swipe up and close it), when you log in the next time it will tell you your session has expired and have to log on again despite doing it the first time. Loved the first app.

Every time I login it says times out. Then I go back to retry, lost network, top of that loses Face ID. The worse app experience I had. Everything was just fine before this and I see this being a problem as we move forward with this app.

Very disappointing app experience. It keep deactivating my Face ID. Password does not save to key chain. Not good.

I agree with the reviews regarding the new app. The app stays on a blank screen with the title mobile banking. It’s impossible to log out of it. The app keeps you logged in and you can not navigate to use a different feature. The new app is worthless. You keep saying contact Metro. Good luck getting through to a representative that understands the app. Tired unsuccessfully for an hour. Talked to a rep and they do not like the app either. They are getting so many complaints. The app freezes and you can’t access your accounts.
