Please fix notifications

I like the app and use it often but I just can’t take the notification issues anymore. Basically I’ll be chatting on FB using a PC, then hours later I open my phone only to be bombarded with notifications for all those messages. All of them I had previously seen on PC, were marked as read by me, and even relied to. It’s just so annoying! I went a long time like this because I like to know when new messages appear, but I just can’t take the tidal wave of notifications for old messages anymore. If you fix it I’ll turn notifications back on because honestly I’d rather have them.

Messenger problem only when I go to messenger and I click active show he or she online but I click then show to 1 hour or 2 hour why?
It’s good, but needs fixing.

Okay so I played a couple of games and the one thing that annoys me is THEY KEEP GIVING YOU NOTIFICATIONS! Even though your Ringer is COMPLETELY off, the notifications are loud. Also, I played most of the games at like 4:00 AM because I have trouble sleeping, and the time I played he game, it gives me notifications at like 4:11 AM! That’s probably why I can’t sleep. Please fix that because I want to sleep and I don’t want notifications anymore. And the texts won’t stop! Ugh. It’s really annoying so please not give it notifications.

My friend’s accounts have been hacked. Because of the constant updates, it’s impossible to know how to get rid of the posts sent from those accounts. I changed my password, closed messenger, and yet here sits the hackers message, waiting. ??

I am old in age 72! But new to messenger. I want to share things with friends so whenever I see something important or humorous I randomly send it to several people. Until recently I had no idea I was creating groups! And the consequence of doing that unknowingly omg!! How do I go about untangling these webs and what do I not do in the future to create these potential disasters??! Thanks for the help! Jim

I use messenger quite a bit. Mostly to contact family from far away, but a couple days ago, I tried going into my messenger and it said I can’t access my account. And now I haven’t been able to log into it. And it doesn’t even give me the option to make a new account.
