Pretty well-rounded

I’ve tried so many language apps, and this one is so far my favorite. It’s very immersive and repetitive, letting you hear, see, and say the words. I tried the Russian and the Korean courses as far as I could for the free version. For the Russian one, it gives you a conversation and has you answer a question about it at the end - you won’t understand everything said, but you’ll be able to grasp enough to answer the question. It’s very cool and motivating. There are a couple of things that I think could be added/addressed to make it even better. For one, writing practice. It does have you type words, but it doesn’t show you how to actually write either Hangul or the Cyrillic alphabets. The second thing is making a point to differentiate between formal and informal versions of words. So far, it’s only taught the informal versions for both languages - which is a huge no-no in Korean at least. I’m not sure how seriously formality is taken in Russia, but - still, you want to be able to greet a stranger properly (for example, hello is здравствуйте (zdravstvutye) for formal, привет (privyet) for informal). Even aside from that, this is the best learning app I’ve tried from what I can tell.

This app used to be free, fun and easy to use now there's a short “free trial” which doesn’t help people who have no money but want to learn a new language

Good app so far

Good app

At least my brother likes it...

My brother is learning Russian and suggested I check this app out since I’ve been teaching myself German for about two years. It’s fine for general phrases, and if I was going to visit for a time I think I’d keep it. But as far as actually learning the grammar rules and why stuff is the way it is, this doesn’t cut it at all. While there are plenty of regular verbs that can easily be conjugated, there are a ton that can’t be done so easily and you need to learn the rules as to why one is one way and another is different. Plus you can’t „ignore“ words and phrases you already know. I’ll be requesting my refund for the lifetime subscription once it’s posted

It’s ok but....

If you are looking for something free, this app is not for you. I used the app today and got to explore the features. I completed the first lesson but the rest of the lessons is LOCKED unless you pay for it. Each Unit of lessons are locked expect for the first one. Overall, I do like the features they have but I wish I was able to experience a little more lessons without having to pay money that I don’t have.

Thanks

Great way to learn!

Love having native speakers teach you the words and phrases, really helps you commit it to memory. Also you can learn the specific language of each country (Portuguese Brazilian or Portuguese from Portugal) which is awesome. All in all a great app to learn!
