I spent time in several apps but landed in memrise to learn Italian for an upcoming trip. The training patterns matched my learning style. I really like the conversational videos and gesture based learning. I can still picture the actor saying “I’m thirsty” every time I say it. One area for improvement is in the way reviews are handled. It’s hard to know when you’re learning new words towards the daily goal vs in a review session. Sometimes I have many words to review but rather than taking me into review it gives me more new words. If you meet your daily goal any further learning should automatically focus on reviewing. This is very unclear to the students using the app.
I love this app! It helps you learn a lot of of Italian or whatever skill your learning. But there are some cons, it lets you skip a question without answering it, the whole point of this is to make mistakes and learn from them. Overall, this app is amazing to learn from! ?
It would be helpful if words were pronounced more slowly, so I could hear each syllable.
I’ve used most language apps for a handful of languages, and Memrise has been one of the most useful for me. It does vary by language and course, but the sheer variety has helped to make up for that somewhat. Currently, I’m working on learning Turkish and the course is in-depth and made in a way that helps me actually learn it rather than simply memorizing (as ironic as that is with a name like “Memrise”).
I’ve been on this app for 10 minutes and I already know 10 words and 20 letters! This app is so good.
Helped me learn Japanese and German and I can speak them fluently to my friends bc all my friends are German and so am I?
I’m learning Korean and I just started using this app today and I feel like it’s already helped me so much better with my pronunciation and also how I write the letters. Definitely recommend for beginners. Now I can invite people to karaoke. 노래방 가자
