Won’t let me pause service without loosing all credits

They won’t let me pause my rollover plan without me loosing all my credits while I cannot go to work because office is closed due to corona virus. Update: same story eight months later.

Dont waste your money

I canceled my account back in July on the app but mealpal has been charging me every month since then even though i have proof of cancelation. Ive reached out to their customer service line, which doesnt even exist btw they just tell you to email them, and have yet to receive a response. I have submitted a claim with the BBB and will be updating this review shortly. Extremely disappointed with MealPal and will not be recommending their services.

Worst Customer Service

Smugdccdsa

I was recently charged for meals when I still had 9 remaining meals on my account. I contacted customer service to get this unauthorized charge off my account and said they couldn’t refund my purchase because I started using the new meals that were purchased. Not true, I was using the remaining meals I had on my account previously. Now I just received an email that they are canceling my account and I have less than 2 weeks to use 21 meals. They are bogus! Be cautious! Not a ethical company.

SCAMMED!

They scammed me at the end! So right when my plan renewed it self, I reached out to cancel since covid just hit. They informed me there’s no refund/cancellation so I went on hold. After I got back on off of hold, I have 12 meals left, but the app wouldn’t let me access anything and payment info kept popping up since my credit card expired. Once I entered my credit card info, it charged me for a new cycle ASAP! I contacted them day of and explain multiple times to multiple costumer service representatives my situation but they all kept telling me there’s no refund. It makes not since. I went on hold right when my cycles renewed which means I should have 30 days till next billing but can’t use my 12 meals till I enter my new credit card and got charge another 12 right when I got back on the app. So I have 24 total and couldn’t even use the 12 new ones. I then proceeded to file a dispute but MealPal told them I had ordered lunch during that time period. Yes because that was my original 12 meals from when I first paid for in the beginning of the pandemic! I’ve never seen a business that operates like this, truly shady and will never come back to it.

Force you keeping using it by making it impossible to cancel

Hate mealpal

The app don't give you a way to cancel online and give you a cancel email different than regular customer service that never replies. DO NOT subscribe unless u want to keep extending it every few months and if u forget they charge you and won't give refund even if u have never used.

Scammy company

Scorcherflame

They don’t let you cancel your membership through the app on purpose. Do not sign up.

Taking advantage of the pandemic

I have been using MealPal for a year before the pandemic, and even recommend to my friends. Since Covid 19 I been working from home with no return date. I reach out to MealPal to get an extension on the expire date since I have no way of using it now. I still have 12 meals that I pay $90 for. The response I get was they can only extent it for 1 month. That’s simply not enough or reasonable. The pandemic has been around and whole country in lockdown for a year, and they are only welling to extend the date for 1 month? It’s disgusting that they are taking advantage of the pandemic to take money from their customers. Worst experience ever.

Won’t let you cancel

At the time of writing, the website does not allow you to cancel your account. The button claiming to do so only directs you to a way to put your account on hold, and then to an email for the company. Upon emailing, the responses repeatedly refused to cancel the account and asked to put the account on hold instead. It is possible to cancel, if you are persistent, but I found the policy dishonest and wanted to share.
