Unclear, unhelpful, and NOT for Brooklyn

em321321

There were no instructions anywhere in the specific rules and restrictions on when and how to use the credits. So I was unable to use it the first two days as I did not know to follow a certain protocol. Then it told me I had 2 days left and instead ended in 1 day. So the credits came out of the next month, (which heads up automatically renewed itself) leaving me with unused credits and unable to get a full refund of my UNUSED month. So I basically paid full price for all these meals. Because the one 6 credit meal had them take out 13$ from the refund. Overall, the app was difficult to understand, with no clear guidelines. Also don’t use in Brooklyn! I could not see the locations before buying the trial and after putting in my zipcode it led me to believe there was something in my area when there was nothing nearby. They should have a map of service BEFORE asking you to pay, but since they don’t - just avoid if in Brooklyn.

Horrible app, horrible means to cancel or change your plan (you have to email them)

Don’t recommend

Just downloaded as I was offered an introductory rate. Went to the restaurant I reserved a meal at. They said they don’t use MealPal. No help option on the app. No way to cancel a plan feom the app.

Serious issues with the latest app update

Apple@NYC

Issues with remembering my profile keeps asking to login Once logged in the reservation is coming up under reservations but unable to open for scanning The option to ask a friend to pick up does not come up anymore Deleted and reinstalled the app and issues continue

Update downgraded

The latest update doesn’t have the QR scanner or the add to calendar button which makes it useless. Also I usually order my lunch in the morning but the restaurants aren’t notified therefor my meal is not ready when I arrive. A lot of restaurants either discontinued using this app or went out of business and no new restaurants have been added in downtown Los Angeles. The concept is great but the developers seemed to have given up on making improvements.

Great Service, Bad App

Their mobile app was getting better and better, but then suddenly two days ago the mobile app on my iPhone Mini started showing only what seems to be a very sluggish version of their mobile website. It won’t keep me logged in, and I can’t scan QR codes any more for my meals at restaurants

Made it impossible to cancel a free meal

I got off the subway today and they gave me a flyer for free chipotle. Awesome I thought, a free burrito bowl. When I used the app today, chipotle wasn’t even an available option. On top of that- the majority of the meals available were bottom tier if anything. I ended up getting a rice bowl with some chickpeas on top, tasty but nothing close to how filling a meal from chipotle is. After being bamboozled out of a burrito bowl, I checked the mobile site to see if I could cancel my membership from there. I soon realized there’s no option to cancel from their mobile site. So maybe it’s on their website from a desktop, so I checked that. Nope- Its not there either. Well then it must be on the app I thought- nope. I had no option to terminate my account or cancel my card for the next billing period - without emailing them. I am now going to be charged because I didn’t notify them 7 days before my next cycle. The next cycle starts in 3 days- and I created my account today. Im pretty sure what they are doing is illegal. MealPal is a scam.

It used to rock…now it doesn’t

They used to have straightforward pricing plans that made sense and saved you money. Now it’s more hassle than it’s worth, costs more than ever, is confusing, and there are hardly any locations available in Manhattan near midtown. Kind of useless, if you ask me…

ungodly spammy

I loved mealpal for the months I used it but after I moved outside their radius I canceled my subscription and opted out of their marketing emails. However, for the last month and a half, i've been receiving more of their desperate emails than ever before, as many as two per DAY. This is egregious and offensive and needs to stop.

Great idea, but actually a scam.

This app makes most of their money by erasing the meals you buy so you can’t use them. I have used this app on and off for several years, and I like the idea but they keep erasing your meals then rebuking you for more. They refuse to offer refunds and instead just add the meals back, then erase them again, always charging you more money. Avoid, you WILL NOT save money. And I’m pretty sure this is illegal.
